How to unlock the Save Your Breath achievement in Minecraft Dungeons - Definitive Guide

This can be earned 2 ways that i know of possibly more the first is to find 2 potions of water breathing from fallen mobs or chests and picking them up for 30 seconds of breathing I don't believe they stack in effects so just wait to use the second.

Or an easy way is to equip 3 totem of regeneration or have a teammate who has one that regens all your health and use them along with your health potion to keep your health topped up.

Potions of water breathing aren’t working for me. I’ve been without oxygen for more than 2 minutes and still no achievement

One totem and your health potion is more than enough.

2nd level killed bunch of enemies, got 2 waterbreathing potion drops. Filled up on oxygen then stood near 1st potion. Let them drop me to minimal health used health potion and picked up 1st waterbreathing potion, moved over to 2nd waterbreathing potion, did same thing, then let myself get back down to minimal health and jumped in bubble stream. No pop. Will keep trying.

Edit: Got it with Totem of Regen and Healing Potion (similar to Cqpt's guide). My guess is the blue half of the heart can't be filled at all during the 60s, so Breathing potions might be useless.

Just more info as to how it works (not sure if it is how it is intended)...

1st level, equipped Piglin armor (with increased artifact timing perk) and totem. Walked off oxygen coral. Let oxygen deplete, and when health was about 3/4 used totem. Totem a second time (speedy artifact lets it ready pretty quick), potion (which reset artifact timer with Piglin), then totem and achv popped. Obviously you can "tinker" and use two totems or have extra players.

Like others said, I think if you kill an enemy or do ANYTHING that gives you oxygen (blue half of HP heart) it resets your time.

I did this with piglin armor and a totem of regeneration.
First step off and wait to run out of o2.
Then pop totem of regeneration.
Then use healing potion
Then use totem again.
The achievement should pop after that.

I did the piglin armor and totem of regen method and survived for at least 2 minutes and still no achievement!

Edit: I closed the game completely and restarted and it popped for me. Really weird.

To survive underwater you can use the The Satchel of Elixirs which "always contains the exact potions you need". If you equip three of them you can drop an endless supply of Potion of Water Breathing which fully replenishes your oxygen, and lasts for 30 seconds.

Another approach is to use armor with the Food Reserves enchantment, which drops up to 3 Tropical Fish that not only heal you but also replenish 10% of your oxygen.

Of course neither of these will help you get this achievement.

Reading is hard for some people I guess "Survive without oxygen for 60 seconds".

I equipped a low level armor with -40% artifact cooldown. That allowed me to use the healing totem on cooldown without dying. I assume if you had a relevant level armor and healing totem you could do this without using lower level gear, but the best healing totem I had was level 57 even though the gear I actually use is 120ish. So the healing totem did not heal enough to save me from drowning with level relevant armor. A level 49 Verdant Robe worked though.

I had 2 totems of heal8ng with level 141 Ghost Kindler Unique, Gilded, Custom armour. It has 30% chance to negate damage. Once my health was low I activated the first totem, then a few seconds later, activated the second. This boosted my health and by the time my health was low, I could activate the first totem again. Got it first try.

There's a level in the tower where you can make this achievement this week, level 7. Just be sure to pick a regeneration totem in the lower levels, and use it + your potion in the level 7. I managed to do it without dying, with maybe 1 second left.

I just want to put this on there because I was so confused by this -- you have to be in a CONSTANT state of "drowning"... meaning your blue heart is gone and you are taking heart damage. I had turtle armor equipped then started popping totems of Regens, one after the other runs out (3 total), and you should take hardly any more health damage. Had a friend with 1 extra regen and it worked perfectly.

Hope this also clears some stuff up lol

Hi, Dungeons producer (/achievement hunter) here. For those who aren't seeing Save Your Breath unlock, please first be sure that you're not accidentally stumbling across incidental sources of oxygen, such as eating fish, killing tropical slimes, or walking over a chest location (it's easier to do than it looks). If you're sure that you're not gaining any oxygen from any source, and you're unable to unlock the achievement after a minute, can you post the method that you used? For example, stood in the same spot for 60 seconds using totems and a health potion, or ran around killing drowned with radiance and a potion of waterbreathing, etc.

First have to determine if there is a bug or if it's working as intended, and if so, the next step is finding out how to reproduce it. Feel free to reply or DM. Thanks!

Another guide to do this is by using the new armor in the DLC the "Turtle Armor", which usually has a boost of damage reduction and healing boost, a Totem of Regeneration is still required but only one and of course your healing potion. I got to about 3 minutes (180 seconds) using this method. Hope this helps with alternative solutions.

The best solution since it only requires 2 items and I happened to have both of them.

The easiest way to survive while drowning for 60 seconds is to use healing totems. Depending on their power level and any cool down enchantments you have, you will need two or three totems. Now stand outside of a bubble column and wait until the blue part of your heart depletes and you begin drowning. Every second that you are drowning you will lose health. Cycle through using each of your totems and your healing potion, if needed, to keep you alive for the 60 seconds needed.

Here I explain that regardless of the level, you still won’t have enough time to regenerate. Then what to do? It's simple.

All we need is:
-Totem of regeneration.
-Armor with an additional drop enchant, when using a healing potion (this is optional).

Then it's a matter of technology. We leave the water, when the air runs out, use the totem until the time comes to use the healing potion.

PS I personally was lucky with my totem, due to the very short cooldown timer of the artifact.
