The tower can only be completed in solo mode. I found this to be fairly easy, as a player who came back just for this achievement after not playing for months.

Be cautious of creepers. I got one shot by them twice, which forced me to play the remainder of the Tower with one life.

As far as strategy, I recommend having a Totem of Regeneration and at least one companion artifact. I really leaned on the Golem for both this and Apocalypse difficulty. I always chose a stronger version of either of those artifacts when one was available. Beyond that, I picked an extra enchantment point if the previous round was easy. If not, I might get an upgrade weapon or armor, if there was anything good available. But I spent at least 75% of my points on more enchantments.

All in all, take your time and it shouldn't be too bad. Good luck!

EDIT: WeepingBomber completed apocalypse difficulty of the Tower first and got both this achievement and the one for defeating it on the higher difficulty, so you may be able to kill two birds with one stone! I did not notice a huge jump in difficulty between the two modes. I will say I was not able to get them to stack, but hopefully it works for most of you!
