EDIT 11-30-22: "This has been made less time consuming with today's update. Towers now change weekly, plus there are new biomes used in towers, meaning you're more likely to see 15 different ones quicker." - @Amoa

~~A new tower appears each month. This achievement will take several months to unlock from scratch.~~
Different difficulties do not change the biomes the current tower has. All floors are exactly the same on all difficulties.

Several of the needed biomes must be rather rare.
You will most likely need to complete 3+ towers for this to unlock, and that will depend on which towers you complete. If they have lots of overlapping biomes you will need to wait and do others.

I've completed two towers before this update and the achievement did not unlock even after I ran through all 30 floors of the late April 2022 tower.
After completing this Tower one time I am at 73% completion for this achievement.

If you go to the Tower in the NW of your camp it will tell you how long it will be before there is a new Tower available. ~~They change roughly every 13-28 days.~~
EDIT: They now change weekly.

The MD wiki states that tower floors come from "influences" from the main game. However, this is rather vague since there are multiple biomes that can be represented in one level.

If you read the solution, he says:

"If you go to the Tower in the NW of your camp it will tell you how long it will be before there is a new Tower available. They change roughly every 22-28 days"

So we have to wait for the tower to change to get more progress towards the achievement.

Anyone that went from 80% to 93% it’s worth to keep going up in the tower as I was on 80% then I jumped to 93% and then by floor 12/13 my achievement just popped. But I did have a save before the new season update hence why I was able to get the achievement

I was on 40% last tower run, did the new tower run, died at the end boss no continues, stuck at 40%, went to main menu, closed the game, relaunched, checked progress now at 80%.

I believe the tower was available at some point where achievements weren't even tied to it, so most people probably didn't bother.

Johnny is correct. People with anything higher than 80% had a previous tower in progress when Season 2 began. Depending on which Tower they had in progress and which floor they were on, some gained a little progress and other had enough to unlock it.

I'm the OP for the solution. I can confirm I had a tower saved from a previous season. It was entirely by accident since I had no idea this achievement would even exist. That's what allowed me to unlock it already.

Also, I'm not sure if this is important or not, but I have a curious theory that "biomes" is tied to specific tiles you step on, not just the rooms themselves. On the tower I unlocked the achievement on, I walked over pretty much every different kind of tile that existed on each floor. Dark colored concrete, red tile, fell into the lava on purpose, etc. I could be completely off the rails here, but it did unlock for me so......maybe???
Possibly that's why some people made progress and others didn't even though they explored the same "floors".

It is also worth remembering that this game's tracker is notorious for being inaccurate and only showing progress at certain intervals. For 15 biomes, 93% is 14 and 12 is 80%. Some of us might be at 86% but not seeing the tracker go up yet.

@Burty Jr, no, you do not need to own any dlc. The Tower is the same for everyone irregardless of whether you own any dlc. The Tower may contain underwater levels, etc, which only appear in dlc, though. You/me/everybody is at the whim and whimsy of the game maker for this achievo, and if they don’t put in enough variation in their Towers, then this will take a long long time and many many Towers to complete.

Just an FYI: I had a friend at 80% but he did not unlock it upon loading into floor 8 like I did. He is now at 93% and floor 27 (working his way to the top).

So, even if you are at 80%, you may still be missing one or more biomes (as the tracking only seems to jump in chunks of biomes).

I think the reason people are still falling short of this despite they claim to be at 80% before starting, a friend pointed out that the tracker only really updates every 3 biomes, so even though people think they are on 80%, the people that completed last tower most likely picked up and extra biome or 2 hence popping the achievement.

Just confirming that jumping on each "different" block doesn't count different biomes. Yesterday I was at 40%, today I completed the new tower and I am at 80%. I played again in the same tower stepping on each different block, falling into each lava on purpose, falling into each different cliff and water, and the counter remained at 80%. I will have to wait 21 days really.

Did the OP gear glitch to run the Apoc tower from 86% on this achv. It popped when loading in to Floor 19. I can confirm the method to use your personalized gear worked on PC and on Console. The tower is too easy with actual armor and weapons/relics from the get go! You can even boost a 260 gilded at the upgrade merchant, so it goes to 273.

Finally got 100% today after 2 months of resets. I just set an alarm on my phone to correspond with tower resets. This isnt time consuming but takes about 6 bi-weekly runs to make happen.

Finally, wave 21 or 22 it popped today. Mines has been stuck at 93% since late May. I think the issue started when I started it on my laptop which I then uploaded my Hero to the cloud thinking I could continue progress on my new desktop. Didn't work out as Id wanted as it appeared to have took me all the way back to the beginning so another 2 months later it finally popped when I had given up all hope of it ever popping so it appears to be locally saved this progress. A whole 4 months for a measly achievement lol

This has been made less time consuming with today's update. Towers now change weekly, plus there are new biomes used in towers, meaning you're more likely to see 15 different ones quicker.

Does anyone know if there is anything different on the 3 difficulty of towers available now? I went through the Adventure tower 2 times and it was exactly the same both times. Does the Default or Apocalypse towers have different stages/biomes? Does anyone know who has done all 3?

I'm at 80% but I had a tower pre-saved at floor 3 from last season so I started this season by completing that tower first which was awesome because it just clears the floor when you enter it and required no effort outside of walking through 30 doors. But after that, the next tower I started was on the new towers for this season.

You can do the current tower without fighting anyone. You need to quit out and join back in to fight the final boss if you want to complete it, but you get the biomes.

@SiegfriedX You can save progress in the tower, and that progress and tower version stays even if the tower flips to a new version. Therein, its possible people had a saved version of the old tower on earlier levels when this achievement came out. Because they could finish the levels on the old tower, they could get slightly ahead of the rest of us who were starting fresh.

The new tower says it offers 2 trials to "celebrate" 2 years of the game, yet I fail to see where the other trial is and if you have done the previous 2 towers and this is still your missing achievement, don't even bother playing the "new" tower with the update today, it doesn't count for a single new biome, another month before everyone can get this providing you have done the previous towers

Managed to get it today. Was at 80%. Noticed the tracker went from 80-93 when I loaded into one of the floors. So some of y'all might be closer than you think. Still annoying to wait though. I already waited 55 days so I know the pain.

From my last comment I figured I’d try another tower run to see if it changed anything. I think something happened where it made me play the 22 floor tower even after the reset despite me not having it started. I noticed on my second run a few hours later it was 30 floors, and playing through this put me up to 93%.

Super weird but if anyone doesn’t get progress this run, try that. Not sure if my tower swap was delayed or that’s a bug.

This took me 4 Different towers over 8 weeks of time seeing how they only change every 2 weeks. The first tower I played had 5 unique biomes, the second another 5 new ones, the third had no new biomes and this fourth one had the final 5 I needed.

I don't think the walk every tile comment makes sense, or we all would be all over the place and not everyone getting the same progress every single tower up until now.

The theory of the janky tracker is what I was thinking, we might be at 86%, but we will only see progress when we get one more biome and it goes to 93%. It was like this for a lot of achievements in this game.

The team for this game is in my opinion the worst internal team developing games for XBox. They can't properly use the tracker on the console, they released the game with several glitched achievements. The game itself has several bugs that are never properly fixed (how many tower skips have we had until now? 3? 5? Even more? And on top of that, they are pushing this seasonal content as many other internal teams and this is only hurting the games, with underwhelming support.

Base game was decent, I had fun playing and completing it, b ut the DLCs? Naming the worst piece of DLC for this game is the most challenging thing, as pretty much every single one of them was incredibly bad and boring to complete.

The tower itself in one of the worst additions to the game. Let's get a game that had full co-op support and create a single player mode for it. That should be fun right? And now they keep wanting us to replay this stupid thing over and over again every single new DLC.

RNG time! The Tower was introduced in a previous update and is a gauntlet of challenges across 30 different floors. You can complete the tower on different difficulties and run through it many, many times. The Tower’s composition is changed just about every month and this is the annoying part of this achievement.

Playing the same month’s Tower on different difficulties doesn’t change the composition. So after completing the Tower once in a month, you will have gained all of the progress you can towards this achievement for that month. Biomes are essentially different themes that each floor can have, determining the look of the floor and the enemies/challenges you will face. RNG will determine how much progress you make per Tower, as some compositions will have a lot of different biomes, while others may have very few. Additionally, you need to encounter DIFFERENT biomes, so it is very likely that you will run into the same biomes on different monthly towers.
