You are probably getting negatives because the creepers explode as soon as you engage them. Therefore, you will need to use the sword to kill some skeletons, get their bow and arrows, then use that to kill creeper. Also you could lure them into the water like in the video. Excellent guide though. +1

^You can kill creepers with swords, you just need to step back after each swing

In the TU 48 tutorial world, go into the area with the slime blocks. It is right of the beacon when entering through the tunnel.
In a chest to your right, a bit above you (climb a few blocks), there is a creeper head inside. Equip it as a helmet and kill the next creeper you encounter, don't let itself blow up. Done :)

Quick and easy when you know where they are.

Load up the tutorial and head to X -144, Y 100, and Z 76. Pop off either the Creeper or Skeleton mask, and wait until nightfall. Loading and waiting will be what you do most of the time for this.
