**YOU DO NOT NEED TO CATCH THE FISH**

This can be done in the tutorial area, and actually DOESN'T require catching the fish, it only requires cooking it. Head up the first set of stairs, then head left down the stairs towards the farm. In the chest next to the animal farm there will be some raw fish, intended for baiting ocelots. Take these fish and cook them in a furnace. The achievement should pop as soon as you take the fish out of the furnace. This solution is much easier than trying to actually catch a fish.

To catch a fish you first need a Rod which you get by combining 3 Wood Sticks with 2 Spider Web.

In my video I'll show you the simple steps to getting this Achievement.

You just need wood and string to make a fishing rod.
Go to water and fish with LT, when the bobber sink press LT to catch your fish.
Then cook it in a furnace !

You need a fishing rod to catch a fish. To craft a fishing rod, grab some sticks and some string. Open the "Tools" tab of the inventory and you'll be able to craft it.

To obtain string, you have to kill spiders. You'll usually need to kill four or five spiders to get enough string, but if you get lucky it could only take one.

After you have obtained a fishing rod, head to some water. Use your rod and a fishing bobber will fly out. Wait until this bobber sinks underwater, then use the rod again to pull it in. A fish should come flying towards you. Pick it up.

Now, take this raw fish to the furnace and cook it. When it's done, you'll have a cooked fish and an achievement.
