How to unlock the Iron Belly achievement in Minecraft: Edition - Definitive Guide

Simply wait until you are starving which are the little symbols next to your health and then eat a piece of meat you received from killing a Zombie.

My video below explains it.

Why not say 'Let your food bar drain completely to start the starving process. Once your health bar starts draining, eat a rotten flesh to pop achievement'. This would be more clear for those that don't want to watch a video.

Thought the written solution made it pretty clear tbh.

Maybe half an hour or so, just don't eat anything and stay away from enemies and it should start depleting.

Sprinting and jumping will help deplete faster.

I believe there's been an update recently that causes the achievement to not unlock because I have tried numerous times in various different ways today and the achievement just wont unlock

Still glitched. People are speculating we have to wait for the next title update for a fix. 980/1000 is a pain. I got it on the One a couple weeks ago, but now it's all fucky on both platforms.

Anyone know when the next title update will be? This is just ridiculous to see so many without this achievement.

Well there just was an update last month so it could be a while before we see another one.

I think that the only way to currently get the achievement would be to get a physical copy of the game. You should be able to play offline and not have the title updates so you may be able to fulfill the requirement and then have the achievement pop when you connect to live.

Seitzz is right. That's how I got it last night.

I disconnected my xbox, uninstalled Minecraft then reinstalled and played until I satisfied the requirement. Then I quit the game and re-connected to the Internet and the achievement popped.

Are you sure you don't just have to play it on hard difficulty?

@ killerspen101 As it stands, with updates/connections to live, the patch or latest version of mc that your xbox will download when connected to live has this achievement glitched. You can meet the requirements in anyway and the achievement won't pop. The only way to get a vanilla non-updated version of the game would be from a physical disc, that's why what I said above looks like the only current way to get this right now.

Is there a way to play without the title update and still get achievements time stamped?

Per the recent winners list but that might be because their accounts don't automatically get scanned... but still.

A quick way to get your health to drop is to stand under a block, two high from the ground, and press A over and over. It halves your jump enabling you to quickly get hungry.

An easy way to get this (after obtaining some rotten flesh from a zombie) is to load a survival world on hard difficulty (food bar will degrade faster), have the rotten flesh equipped and jump over and over until the food bar is completely depleted. Once this happens, your health will start dropping. At this point, eat the rotten flesh and the achievement is yours! Took me 2 or 3 minutes.

Rotten Flesh is an item that zombies drop when they die. For this achievement, you will need your food bar to go all the way down until you start taking damage from starvation. Once you start starving, eat the Rotten Flesh and the achievement will unlock.
