How to unlock the Passing the Time achievement in Minecraft: Edition - Definitive Guide

This achievement requires you to play 100 in-game days (not real life days), that's going to take you about 33 hours. Sleeping will not speed up the process.

The best and easiest way of getting this achievement is to put your Xbox on "Never Turn Off" (required) in the settings and Appear Offline (optional).

After that you want to start a Survival game (Creative won't work) and put it on Peaceful Mode.

I can confirm that you can turn off your Controller while doing this! There is no need for rubber banding your Controller. Hold down your Xbox Home Button for 3 seconds and press "Turn Off Controller". Next up turn off your TV (optional) and let your Xbox run when going to sleep/school/work.

Important note: Don't leave the game on the pause screen as it will stop the timer!

Good luck!

The update that was released voided my progress for this. Was at 36%, took the update, and went down to 0%

Where do you find the hours played?

@Lord Namlig you can find it in the achievements area where it says "Time played". However, it does include the time on the title screen, creative mode, etc.

This description can be a little bit confusing. What this achievement consists of is playing, within the same world in Minecraft, 100 days. You do not have to play Minecraft for 100 days (3+ months) to get this achievement. Simply play through 100 in-game days and this achievement will be unlocked.

You may obtain this achievement through play in any world where achievements are enabled. That means that creative mode worlds will not be eligible as those worlds turn off achievements.

As pointed out in the comments, sleeping through the night does not seem to help make the in game time go by faster. This achievement takes about 33 hours of real time. You can total the time through different worlds. No need to stay in the same one if you do not want to.

I originally looked at this solution 12 hours ago when it had 6 positive and 2 negative votes. I was lucky number 7 for positive vote. Thanks for being the first person to clear up wheather it was 100 real or 100 in game days. While I do see where you could have improved your solution to be more clear, the point is still conveyed and I am glad that as of right now there are still only 2 negative votes and that there is still only one solution posted.

33 hours which is still lengthy, but not as lengthy as waiting 100 real days. :)

^ There's a few people who already have all other Achievements, how come they miss this? Continous sleeping should only take a little bit I think. shock

It will come eventually for sure, 100 days is not many for those that get hooked to minecraft. It's basically just a race to see who completes the game first at this point

It's not 100 in game days. It's a set number of play time equal to 100 in game days. My snapped achievement counter went up within 3 minutes of starting a new world.

It has to be the main app or else Xbox treats it as a paused app. If it is not the main app, Xbox will treat it the same as if your Xbox was off and you had instant resume.

can you be more specific because you say that you have to do 100 hours in the same world but then you proceed to say you can accumulate it over other worlds? is it one or the other?

Letting it on overnight that should work, if you want the Achievement as fast as possible. I suppose if you love Minecraft this will come naturally. smile

Open up a tutorial world on Peaceful and do not make it creative or add anything that disables achievements. All you have to do is stand around in the game for 100 in-game days. (Approx. 10 min. per day x 100 = 1000 min.) Simply turn off your controller and go do something else while the game runs in the background. Do not open the pause menu as this will stop tracking your achievement!

This achievement is easy but time-consuming. What you need to do is play a grand total of 100 days without sleeping in any survival world you have. You can put the difficulty to peaceful and stay AFK for this. Once the 100th day ends, the achievement should unlock.
