You've got it backwards. If you take Romeo with you, he will lure the monster away

This one didn’t unlock either having to replay the whole boss fight again via cloud save

If your achievement doesn't pop as soon as you hit the checkpoint for the next chapter. Restart you're game and load in. This solution worked for me when my achievements wouldn't pop
