This is not a guide mostly due to that trick being random. You will not always get this achievement this way.

Fair enough. I was just putting it out there for those that didn't know about it. Its worth trying as if it works it saves a lot of time.

Just a few quick tips to help anyone struggling with this achievement.
First off, there is a blaze spawner in the tutorial worlds nether at X: 122, Y: 62, Z: 107. You can't see your map in the nether, but you can still see coordinates. To get to the nether, I went to the building at coordinates X: -115, Y: 63, Z: 316 in the overworld, where you can mine diamonds and obsidian. Which is the same building where the Rainbow Collection Achievement can be easily obtained.
There is also a nether portal already constructed in the tutorial world, in the castle down the small stairs opposite the hay bail courtyard. (Thank you to PLANET13 for the location)
And in order to avoid enemies in the nether, I loaded it up on peaceful, made my way to the spawner, saved and quit and then reloaded the game on easy and killed a blaze.
Hope this helps!

If you already have blaze rods from playing prior to these achievements being unlocked (or find one randomly in a chest somewhere) you can simply put the rod in a chest and then break the chest. As soon it drops the rod the achievement will unlock.
Blazes are monsters found only in the Nether, they are usually found within Nether Fortresses. Blazes moan, float around and shoot fire at you if they notice you; kill a blaze, pick up the rod it drops and the achievement will pop.
