How to unlock the Iron Belly achievement in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition - Definitive Guide

Starvation is when your hunger bar runs out and you start losing hearts from your health bar. This can be achieved on any difficulty except peaceful. Make sure you have Rotten Flesh from a zombie and you are in a safe place. Sprint and jump until your hunger is gone and you start taking damage, then eat the Flesh. (It takes about 3 minutes for the hunger bar to deplete from full on any difficulty.)

You might want to make a note that hunger does not decrease on peaceful and Zombies also don't spawn

The Difficulty Specific flag has been removed before, so I had to put some Achievement Flag Submissions for it to be back on there. So yeah. Difficulty Specific it is.

Based on the dates of people complaining of this being glitched, I'm guessing the most recent update broke it. For the record, it's bugged for me too.

They have confirmed and discussed this glitch, but do they really intend to wait until the next title update to resolve this? And I wonder why some people are still able to unlock it.

I found a way to do this, it's the same way as the bugged achievement in GRID, but since in the Xbox 360 forum I go an infraction for explaining the method (WHICH IS THE SAME AS GRID, AGAIN), I've deleted my solution.

See, when you try to be helpful, you just get problems coming at you.

This has been confirmed to be obtainable if you play on an older update, and decline to update the game to the latest TU. If you can find a console that has not played MC for a while, for example, that is probably your best bet other than waiting for this to get patched.

The fix for this will be released in 'Future Release - TU32/CU20/1.23/Patch 2' according to the bug tracker

Thought I was going crazy. Good to know it's not me, bad to know it's glitched. Hope the next TU does fix it.

@LoboSinSombra As mentioned, they officially added this glitch to the list of bugs in the next Title Update, so we probably just have to wait a little while.

@Lavindathar You would be playing on a version that doesn't have this Title Update, or the ability to unlock this achievement; however, as mentioned above, you can play on the correct version of this game offline to unlock this, but that takes slightly more technical know-how. L0Straniero91 has more info regarding this method for anyone looking to achieve this without waiting for the next Title Update.

TU32 dropped on PSN today. According to 4J Twitter, it should be on XBL "before the end of this week".

Since the new update, my hunger never decreases low enough to cause starvation. Any tips?

As of the current version, starvation will not cause you to lose hearts, but you will still unlock the achievement for eating the flesh with empty hunger.

Since the new update, this has gotten a lot harder, because they've now fixed the hunger systems so that hunger doesn't degrade so fast. I couldn't manage to get my hunger to drop enough with normal play, I'd always end up dying before my hunger dropped.
The solution for this is as follows, first off kill a zombie to get some rotten flesh (difficulty easy or harder) load up the game on the hardest difficulty (hard), and go inside to somewhere relatively safe. Now keep jumping until your hunger drops. It will take quite a long time, more than twenty minutes. Once you go into starvation, eat your rotten flesh and the achievement will unlock

The two methods above can be combined to save time. Sprint until your hunger bar has depleted seven of the ten food indicators, ensure you're in hard mode, and jump in place to deplete the other three. This process took me roughly five or six minutes.

Rotten Flesh is an item that zombies drop when they die. For this achievement, you will need your food bar to go all the way down until you start taking damage from starvation. Once you start starving, eat the Rotten Flesh and the achievement will unlock.
