How to unlock the Lion Tamer achievement in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition - Definitive Guide

This achievement can be easily unlocked in the tutorial world but note that the layout of the tutorial world sometimes changes but the method to unlocking is still the same.

Load up the tutorial and complete the basic features so you can go through the opening in the wall.

Once you have gone through the wall you're in a town and on the left there will be an area where there is farming and animals with pens.

You should see some pens with chickens, cows, pigs and you guessed it ocelots which are on your right, in front of the ocelots is a chest that contains the raw fish you need. Grab the raw fish and equip it and crouch (Click cn_RSc) and open the pen so that the ocelot runs out, follow it but not too close so you don't lose it, then you'll need to wait for the ocelot to calm down and stop being scared.

When it calms down it should come back to you slowly with its head down looking at you, once near press cn_LT to tame it and providing it worked there will be a flash of hearts and the ocelot with turn into a either a ginger black and white or Siamese cat.

Note: If the ocelot gets too close it will get scared off again and you'll have to start over and wait for it to come near you again. As well as this it you tame in this scared mode you will still see a flourish of hearts but no taming will occur.

Here's a video (Ocelot location may be different but the method is the same)

The Tutorial map/area is different so the solutions directions might confuse people.

It's good solution, but I'm voting negative due to the video showing the wrong tutorial world.

Really? laugh Still shows you the hard bit of actually taming.

I don't have to tell you where to find an ocelot or a fish or anything really.

Your opinion though and you're welcome to it.

Thanks for updating the video. That is the same tutorial level found in the current version of Minecraft for Xbox 360. I changed my vote. I am not a perfectionist but I prefer to use video guide and not written solutions. When the video shows a complete different level, it was useless whether the method is correct or not.

If it doesn't change the first time, just reload the last checkpoint. I chased it all over the place, only to lose it in the mountains, but when I loaded it the third time, it instantly changed the first time I tried it.

After about 25-30 minutes of trying this in the tutorial; I came upon an epiphany. Playing in peaceful mode it is easier. I don't know if its because I had a full stomach or if the difficulty was set to peaceful, but cn_LT only allowed for taming, rather than eating. I think when I was hammering cn_LT as the ocelot was walking towards me, I was eating the fish, haha.

Another note is that the ocelot needs to be out in the open for the achievement to unlock; if it's standing next to a fence/wall, etc then the hearts appear but it doesn't change into a cat.

Super easy if you load up the tutorial level. Finish the basics then run up to the fountain then take a left and enter the taming tutorial area. Get a fish out the box then let the Ocelots out of their cage. Follow one with the fish in hand (Crouching also helps to get closer) once the cat calms down it will come up to you and you can give it the fish using cn_LT. It may take a min or so but the Ocelot will turn into a cat and Bam! Easy Cheevo!

I think there's a glitch involving character skins. I was trying this for ages without success, then I went back to the default skin and the achievement dropped first try.

Ocelots are the cats found primarily in jungle biomes. They are similar to wolves because they can be trained and protect you from monsters in the world, ocelots specifically scare off creepers.

To train an ocelot, you must get several pieces of raw fish (SEE: "Delicious Fish"); once you've gotten your fish, find a jungle biome and look for the cats that roam around the biome. Unlike wolves, you can't get just go up to an ocelot and start feeding them, if you do that the ocelot will just eat your fish and run away. You must crouch walk up to an ocelot with the fish in your hand and wait for the feline to slowly walk up to you; if the ocelot walks up to you, quickly press  to start feeding the fish to it. If the ocelot is tamed, then hearts will appear above his head and the cat will change colors to look more like a domesticated house cat.
