So I Got That Going For Me...

So I Got That Going For Me...

Lead a Caravan containing at least 5 Llamas.

20

How to unlock the So I Got That Going For Me... achievement in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition - Definitive Guide

This one just got a whole lot easier.

The Title Update 69: Update Aquatic now has 4 Llamas in a stable in the first area after the starting tutorial. Pet/ride them with LT until hearts pop out to tame them, then use the conveniently placed nearby hay bales to get them breeding.

Four adult Llamas plus one baby one still counts, and the lead is in a chest close by too. Open all the stalls, pop the lead on one and walk up and down a bit for the 20G.

Perfect solution. Just to clarify, you need to ride two of them to tame them BEFORE feeding them with hay. Also I couldn't get them to breed whilst they were part of the caravan - I had to let the leader go from the leash first.

This used to be a difficult achievement. New tutorial world from a while back makes this a BREEZE. I only had to put 1 llama into the bigger pen on a lead after taming them all for the achievement to pop. Solution still good 3/17/2022

This is a pain, but once again, you can get it on the tutorial world. (The Cobbmeister wrote in the comments that this works MUCH easier if you set your game to Peaceful.) I combined my world with my The Deep End achievement since it's in roughly the same area, and threw Let It Snow for good measure. You obviously don't have to.

In the horse area of the tutorial is a chest with a lead. You only need one. That's the easy part. While you're here, grab as many hay bales as you can to breed the llamas. Also grab some fence and a gate...rip them out of the ground.

Now go due south on the map. I literally carved a hole in the mountain through the start area. You will find a small village on the west side of a savanna. Slightly west is a jungle (good for the ocelot achievement if you need it), and off to the east is a desert area with temples and such. Llamas spawn in the savanna.

When you find the llamas, MAKE SURE YOU TAME THEM. It's going to be annoying looking for llamas, but they do show up. They're almost always on the slope of the steep hills in this area, and I wandered around and around them until I found two. There are three separate hills in the savanna, so make sure you search all three.

Note that other animals and creatures may keep them from spawning, so I killed every cow, rabbit, chicken, sheep and mob I saw. I even went so far as to kill the squid in the ocean just off the shore, because I was frustrated I couldn't find any llamas.

I carved out a cavern in the side of one of the hills for a bed and a solid corral for the llamas when I found them. Then I put fencing around the outside. You can do it any way you like, but that's what worked for me. Here are the coordinates of my cavern, which is just so that you know the general area of where the llamas spawned for me.

X: 47
Y: 72
z: 267

This is very luck based. You have to wait for not one, but two llamas. On the One, it took about 30 minutes. On the 360, it took hours. Just dumb luck.

You do need 2 llamas, though. Tame them, then use hay bales to put them in Love Mode. (I can just hear Barry White saying that. "Love Mode.") Breed them until there are a total of five. They don't all have to be full grown, but you can't breed them for a little after one is born. It'll take a few in-game days.

Once you have five, you just need to put the lead on one of them, since they all pack together.

I got one lama so far. But this is way less of a hassle then the other solution. I don't mind killing shit to pass the time...

Beat me to it! Was in mid writing when I saw this smile. Solution looks good!

For record, I found one of my llamas on top of the hill east of the "crooked sword" hill and one on top of the bigger hill north of the "crooked sword" hill.

The key which needs to be emphasized is to kill all other livestock in the area as you're roaming between all three hilltops. This will speed up llama generation quite a bit.

As well, you may want to bring some dirt with you to build a "stairway" to get to the top of each hill quickly (as they tend to be craggy). This will speed up the climb and thus speed up the search.

Stairway. Nice. The hardest part for me was the tall grass. Made it hard for me to see what was there. I actually thought about setting fire to it. Don't know if it would have worked.

Yeah, killing livestock was huge.

In the area, I set all the damn trees on fire. Made getting around on my pony easier and peaceful mobs a breeze to slaughter.

Oh yeah... add that taming a horse and throwing a saddle on it makes searching for llamas 10x easier. You don't have to jump; the horse just runs over everything and moves as fast as you run!

I'm having issues with my Llamas despawning. I put the first one in a fenced area 6x6 and it vanished before I brought the second one back. I put the second one in a smaller fenced area and that's also despawned... What am I doing wrong?

I... don't... know? That's weird.

I had no problems when I put them in my dugout with torches and a bed and stuff. Did you take them before you left?

They need to be in an area smaller than 5x5 I think. Try a 4x4 pen (as in they have 4x4 square to move)
0
0
By SchiZoPHreNiikz on 04 Jul 2017 16:09
Try taming them. I tamed one and connected my lead to a single fence post. In order to get the other lama I tamed that one took my lead and my original lama didn't move from that spot while not being connected to a lead. So try taming your lamas, seems to help

By Darkness727420 on 04 Jul 2017 16:28
Yeah, I think taming is the key. They were tamed before I left the cave. My cave wasn't 4x4.

I don't think a pen or enclosure matters. All I did was break a piece of a fence in the starting village. Then put it down in the area lamas spawned.

I didn't even have a corral at first. I just had a cave. No door, just sealed them in with cobblestone.

By Sashamorning on 04 Jul 2017 18:23
I didn't even do that lol. I figured if I tamed it, it wouldn't move far.

I also noticed that killing octopuses didnt matter as I didn't kill any. Just the mobs and animals on land.

So just tame 2 of them then breed. The baby's will stay with the parents. I know this isn't much of a big deal, but when I had my 5, I put the lead on one and only 2 actually followed when the achievement popped. roll

If anyone has trouble with Llamas spawning then try seed 90000000000000009 (9 then 15 zero's then 9) on a large scale map. This seed has a vast area of a savannah and extreme hills. Within a short time you will find llamas. But I have still haven't found a lead or items to make one yet on this seed.

Nice find! Yeah, you need the slime, which is in the tutorial. That makes the tutorial easier even without a lead, because you can kill spiders for the string. If you explore and find slime (looks like it's more prevalent now), let me know?

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm not having any animals spawn, llamas or otherwise.
Edit: Figured out the problem. it was all the squids hanging out just off the shore. Once I killed them, animals started spawning again.

By Lumberjay85 on 12 Jul 2017 20:25
Yeah, when I did this I had just used my boots, so I was in the water. Of course that made lots of squid spawn. facepalm

I'm glad other people are confirming that squid get in the way. I thought they might be.

Killing squid will more than likely speed up the spawn of lamas. But again I didn't as I drowned while I was trying to kill one so I just said screw it and killed everything on land. So yes KILL EVERYTHING and don't be like me laugh

I tried this solution for hours and never saw a single llama in the tutorial world. I just got endless squid spawns after killing them again and again. I was on peaceful.

The other solution by MthsD was much faster.

Spent an hour looking for llamas around the 'sword hill', then found all 5 wild llamas within 5 minutes. Wow.

By FireDragon40 on 27 Jul 2017 01:06
I also spent over an hour running around killing things until I got bored and read up on the wiki. The game allows (single player) the following within a 17x17 chunk radius from you.
Hostile = 70 Passive = 10 Ambient (Bats) = 15 Water (Squids) = 5
So I loaded up a second player, and killed all the animals that were in the beginning of the tutorial. After doing this, I started seeing tons of animals spawning and got the llamas within 5 minutes. The game CAN spawn 100's of squids by a spawning glitch, so if you see more than 5, kill them. Otherwise, I'd say don't waste your time. Also, stand outside the savannah area just inside the desert if you're not running around, as animals don't spawn within 24 blocks of the player. Also, rabbits can be hiding in the tall grass

Very interesting... I didn't think to look at any of that! I think I screwed myself over at first because I was doing the Let It Go achievement and came running in from the sea, so there were lots of squid spawning in the water.

So after 2 hours of searching for a llama, I realized (like a comment above) that too many squids are in the area. No matter how many times I end up killing them, more would appear. I actually gave up on this for a while and played another game. When I loaded this game back up again to try once more, I found 4 llamas right away on the hill with the sword in it.

I guess if you reload the game, it refreshes the animal spawns. Hope this helps anyone.

I can't take this anymore ive been running to these three hills for just under 6 hours now killing everything and I can't even get one Llama to spawn. I simply can't sink more time into this, its the last achievement i need for both X1 and 360 and I have work.

Id really appreciate it, please msg me on XBL or here.

Thanks =/

The white llamas are very easy to mistake for sheep. If you see sheep in the distance, it's worth taking a closer look, especially if they look a little different.

+1 went to your coodrinates (easy, not peaceful), did a loop around the 3 or 4 hills there and one spawned. Got a 2nd and 3rd on the next in game day. Thanks!

Don't forget you can feed the little llamas haybales to make them grow up faster.

Hey guys. We only need one lead, so the one in the mansion should do it pretty well. Go all the way on peaceful if you will, it only makes it easier especially in the mansion

I got this on the Frost Walker seed; once I found the lead on the mansion, it was not that hard.

1. Start a new World: Medium biome size; 1688171794 seed;

2. I recommend you establish your home at your west (bottom left corner of the map, the llamas are animals that appear on high mountains)
break the grass on the floor, we'll be planting some wheat as soon as possible (and don't be shy, if we end up find only 2 llamas later, we'll have to bread them with 2 or 4 pack of wheat);
3. At the mansion, on the first floor you'll find a room with a chest on the other end wall, here's your 5th lead (X: -237, Y: 70, Z: -221);
If you don't find it, reload a new world or we can craft two lead with:
4 strings (killing spiders or around the chests of the mansion you can find some)
and a Slime Ball (the slimes can be found at x: 100 z:-100)

4. Now back at the base on the mountains, the llamas should be spread around fine, if not, get two of them and bread with pack of wheat until you got five of them;
Use the lead on one of them and the llamas near it will follow along.

Happy hunting! cn_guide

I never saw a single llama using the tutorial world solution.

I saw one llama as soon as I spawned using the seed from this guide, and another shortly after. While preparing a farm for enough wheat to breed them I eventually encountered another 3 llamas. Playing on peaceful made it easy to get a lead.

Once I had 5 in a pen and got the achievement I uploaded the save for Xbox One and got it there also.

Great guide, thank you. I don't know why people are hating on this solution when it is much more reliable and quicker than the other one, and also a lot less boring. I'd give you a positive but TA won't let me because of alleged guilty-until-proven-innocent "cheating" :|

The seed works perfectly. I found about 7 llamas in the first 5 minutes of exploring the world. I also found a spider dungeon with a crap ton of string to make that easier. Finding slime was a bit of a pain but that is okay. The only downside to this is that there was no Mansion. Other than that, this works

This seed works excellent. There is no mansion on this seed, contrary to the post (there wasn't for me anyway), and I didn't find any llamas in the bottom left corner of the map. However, there are plenty of llamas at coordinates X: -17, Y: 90, Z: 185 (this location is actually not far from the spawn). There are also plenty of slimes at these coordinates: (X: 56, Y: 68, Z: 135 and X: 108, Y: 65, Z: -63). String can be found anywhere at night. By the time I was done gathering string and slime for a lead, I had 7 llamas at the previous coordinates (X: -17, Y: 90, Z: 185), which made getting the achievement a breeze.

I would not recommend the tutorial world for this achievement, as I spent hours there (south of the main village, in the savanna area) and found only one llama.

There's another seed: -5878875557040847114
This one is really nice because there's a mansion northeast of where you spawn where you can kill Evokers and get Totems of Undying. A little southwest of where you spawn is a savanna area with plenty of llamas as well. The only problem for me was that I couldn't find slime anywhere. But if the previous seed doesn't work, this one is a nice bet.

Great guide, still works as of 29 september.
If you put your main 'base' near the left corner of the map (let's say: X: -247, Y: 101, Z: 292) then there is a little Swamp area @ X: -145, Y: 65, Z: 219, found several Slimes there during the night (got 12 Slimeballs). So getting those isn't that hard and no need to go to the Mansion either, the Spiders shouldn't be to hard either.

Happy 'hunting' wink
