How to unlock the COLLECTOR achievement in MINIT - Definitive Guide

So in this guide I'm going to show screenshots for the location of every item in the game and give a brief description of how to get the item. I'll be putting the items in order of how you can unlock them in the game and stating any items required to unlock the item. The item numbers will be the number in the items menu if you count from left to right.

Item 1: Sword - No Requirements
First item you get in the game, can't make it far without the sword.


Item 2: Coffee - No Requirements
You have to kill five crabs and then go into the cafe / tavern. There's two crabs one screen south of your main house and three crabs one screen north of the cafe.


Item 5: Lighthouse Key - Coffee
One screen east of where you killed the three crabs, there's some boxes to push.


Item 3: Flashlight - Lighthouse Key
Go to the Lighthouse southwest of the cafe, enter it, and climb to the top.


Item 6: Watering Can - No Requirements
Go one screen east of the two crabs and there will be a bush in the top right. Cut it and go one screen north.


Item 7: Sword Thrower - No Requirements
Wander around in the desert until you cross enough screens to find the Oasis. Start cutting down the cacti until the ghost attacks and starts shooting out swords. Kill the ghost and collect your reward.


Item 8: Fast Shoes - 7 Coins
Once you get 7 coins you can go to the Sneaker Hut near the Desert Campsite and buy the shoes.

Item 9: Gardening Glove - Watering Can
Start at the camper in the Desert Campsite and grab the watering can. Walk south until you find a man who needs water and water him. Now go to the sign maker camp one screen west and one screen south of the Desert Campsite. The man you saved will be there and clear a path for you to the west. Go west and enter the cave, the glove is inside.


Item 10: Boatwood - Gardening Gloves
Go to the screen with the snake cave and chop down the tree, the Boatwood is on top.


Item 14: Press Pass - Coffee, Sword Thrower
On the same screen as the snake cave and the Boatwood, push the box in the top left corner. Follow the path, then throw your sword across the river to kill the two archers. The frog will fix the bridge and allow you to continue north. The Press Pass is on the next screen north.


Item 4: Flippers - Coffee, Sword Thrower, Gardening Glove
Go to the Hotel and find all the Hotel Guests, then climb onto the Hotel roof.

Item 11: Basement Key - Gardening Glove, Boatwood
Give the Boatwood to the man you saved earlier, he's now near the lighthouse. Once you give him the Boatwood, you'll have to die and respawn and travel to him again. He'll take you south to the Island House. On this island is a very tall tree, chop it all the way down, and at the very top will be the Basement Key.


Item 12: Mega Sword - Watering Can, Sword Thrower, Gardening Glove, Press Pass
Go to the basement of the factory, in the room of the main sword machine there's an electric machine to break. Once you break it travel south and you'll meet a guy near a large gear. Attack the gear with your sword. Once the sword is stuck in the gear die and respawn. Now take the watering can back to the gear either by entering through the mineshaft and going around the long way in the factory or entering via the boring tunnel near the Desert Campsite.


Item 13: Broken Sword - Defeat the Boss
Once you defeat the boss of the game, you'll get the Broken Sword.


Item 15: Turbo Ink - 8 Tentacles
This is a gift from the Octopus for finding all 8 of his Tentacles.

Item 16: Grinder - Coffee, Flippers
In the machine room west of the sword machine, there are four boxes. The three boxes you would normally push into the machine to jam it, you need to push into the water to make a bridge. Then the box that's across the water needs to be pushed into the machine. You can do this before or after you jam the machine.

In this video, I collect all Hearts, Items, Tentacles, Coins and complete the game with 110%. The collectibles start at around 15:25 in the video, the start shows how to beat the game in 16 runs with no snake kills

After this video, you should be only missing the achievement for beating Second Run mode.

A fast guide for the whole game. All items included.

Sword: From the starting house, go left one screen and you'll find it on the water's edge.

Coffee: You'll need to kill 5 crabs and return to the bar in one life to get the coffee. Two crabs are near the starting house and 3 are north of the bar.

Flashlight: Once you have the Lighthouse Key, head up the ladder inside the lighthouse to find the flashlight on the balcony.

Flippers: You'll need to find all of the hotel guests to receive access to the flippers. Please see Employee of the Month for a list of hotel guests.

Lighthouse Key: Once you have the coffee, head north from the bar and follow the path until you find a box you can push to get the key.

Watering Can: From the starting house, head down to the water and go right. You'll find a bush you can cut in the top right corner, which takes you to the watering can.

Sword Thrower: Once you defeat the Oasis Ghost you'll receive this item. Please see Explorer for details.

Fast Shoes: You can purchase the shoes for 7 coins from the Sneaker Hut. Please see Treasure Hoarder for a list of coin locations.

Gardening Glove: Once you have the watering can and reach the camper home, head south three screens to find someone lost in the desert. Water them with the watering can, and on your next life, go to the sign maker. You can now go left, where you'll find a set of stairs. Head down to find the glove.

Boatwood: After receiving the Gardening Glove, the guy you saved in the desert will now be standing by the boat near the lighthouse. From the starting home, go north and you'll see a weird looking tree. Cut it down to receive the boatwood, which you can give to the guy to repair his boat and reach the island.

Basement Key: Once you reach the island, you'll see a palm tree on the top right of the screen. Cut it down to receive the key.

Press Pass: Once you've found the Sword Thrower by defeating the Oasis Ghost, return to the starting home. From there, head north, and then push the box out of the way to go left. Follow the path, and you'll find two enemies shooting arrows at you. Kill them both by throwing your sword at them, and a path will be created over the water. Continue north and you'll find the press pass in the abandoned house.

Turbo Ink: You'll receive this for finding all of the octopus's tentacles and returning to him. Please see Marine Biologist for a list of tentacle locations.

Grinder: You'll need access to the factory and the flippers for this one. Once you reach the factory room with the conveyor belts and the grinder on the left side, push the three nearby boxes into the grinder to stop the conveyor belts. This is required to shut down the factory. Once that's done, return to that room on a new life, and you'll see that the grinder is still operating. There's a fourth box in this room in the bottom right corner that looks slightly different. Create a bridge in the water with the three other boxes, and then push the fourth box into the grinder to receive the Grinder item.

Mega Sword: Once you shut down the East and West conveyor belts in the factory, go south, following the last running conveyor belt. You'll find someone who will tell you to hit the machine with your sword. It will get stuck, and you'll need to return with your watering can. From the hotel, instead of crossing the bridge to the factory, go south through the mines, up through the room with the grinder, and follow the path right and down to reach the room with the two trucks. From there, head up, left, down, and take the stairs to return to the conveyor belt, which you can follow down to return to your sword. You'll need to be quick to get back here within the time limit. Water your sword and receive the Mega Sword.

Broken Sword: You'll receive this upon beating the factory boss. Please see Minit for more details.

Here is the list of items:
  • The sword is a plot one.
  • Watering can - plot.
  • Coffee is a plot point.
  • The key to the lighthouse is plot-related.
  • The lantern is a plot one.
  • Flippers - plot.
  • The Sword Thrower is a story-driven one.
  • Press card - plot.
  • Gardening glove - plot.
  • The megasword is plot-driven.
  • Speed ​​Boots - Collect 7 coins and go to the shoe store.
  • Boatwood - described in the Tourist trophy.
  • Basement Key - After arriving on the island, you can cut down a very long tree and the key on top of it.
  • Turbo Ink is a reward for completing the Marine Biologist trophy.
  • Mower - in the western puzzle of the factory, after solving it, you need to go back and make a bridge from the boxes for the iron box in the lower right corner and push it into the crusher.
  • Trophy - after getting 19 coins in the Hoarder trophy, go further, save in the tent and go through the pipe to a room full of trophies, there you need to take the only one that doesn't shine, otherwise you will die.
  • The broken sword is a plot point.
Get the trophy after the final boss, but you need to collect all the non-story ones before fighting him.
