Mittelborg: City of Mages (UP)

The game will ask you to built a crystal retort as a quest at some point.

This is the best chance to do this as you will need less resources than normally.

So built the crystal retort and sacrificae potions, scrolls or artifacts to get it to full energy and summon a mage.

Be aware that the whole game is buggy and seems to treat your first 2 Lifes like a tutorial without the ability to unlock achievements.
If you fulfill this condition during the tutorial you need to delete your save, redo the tutorial and do the condition again
