How to unlock the Swan Dive Defense achievement in MLB The Show 24 - Definitive Guide
After trying in exhibition for a few hours hoping for the cpu to hit a pop up, while also trying to get the timing of diving down. I decided to try Road to the Show as an outfielder. Upon the 3rd game in AA I had a queue for an impact play where you have a chance to get a dive with a cinematic. To dive for the play hit A at the right time when prompted it while go in and out of the a button. If you don’t get it first try like me you may have to wait until triple A for a chance again for it. Good luck!

@xxboysetfirexx just as random as trying to get the cpu to hit a fly ball that is catchable. I provided a means for people to find a way i never said it was 100%. It is a valid option and most people on this thread have recommended RTTS.

You can player lock in exhibition, I was able to get it that way as a first baseman. Make sure the slowmo setting is turned on, you will auto dive and just need to hit "a" at the right time.
It took me a few games to get it.
Games go really fast player locked, if you dont get it on the recap screen just go to restart game.

The first guide is great if you get lucky, but in my experience the method I will show below worked better especially with the slow loading times, stupid text cutscenes, etc.
Exhibition Game > make sure you are Home Team (so you bat 2nd each inning) > Select Boomers > Player Lock (hit RT) on Ken Griffey Jr > Move Ken Griffey Jr to 9th in batting order (by doing this you are ensuring that a majority of the time the visiting team batting first will have 2-3 innings of at bats before you come up to bat, leading to more opportunities to dive catch).
In my experience, 80% of the time the game would start with me in the field ready to make a play.
If you come up to bat first, Confirm Restart. It is faster than even bunting and getting out.
Settings - you can leave Showtime on if you want, doesn't matter it seems to never trigger. Put fielding opportunities on All, not Impact. Impact forces the game to promote their little throwing minigame, you will get a bunch of ground balls instead of fly balls. The "All" setting gives mostly routine fly balls.
Catching the ball - this game is awful, it will lock you into a catch no matter what difficulty or settings you have, it will make you slide and catch but not dive, it will make you jump instead of dive even when hitting RT, just keep trying. As soon as you see its a fly ball, start running towards the circle, keep circling around it and follow the shadow on the ground of the ball coming to time your dive into the circle.
I had a few times where I trapped the ball, inches away from the dive catch - you will eventually get it.
Keep in mind Ken Griffey is is left handed, so when he dives it will be with his right hand forward, so if you are coming straight at the ball dive with your body a little to the left of where the ball is.
After every failed attempt, just Confirm Restart, it is always faster and most of the times gives you another opportunity right away.

You're suggestion was the only one that seemed to work for me. After ~15 minutes, I was able to get it. Thank you!
