How to unlock the Grappler achievement in Monday Night Combat - Definitive Guide
Grapple kills are executed with the Left Trigger, though for some characters (such as Support) you have to switch to a secondary weapon to be able to grapple. You can switch weapons with LB. Please note all 10 grapple kills must be performed in a single match.
Standard Method: This can be achieved in a regular Crossfire match online, though you will likely have to focus on getting these kills. The Assassin has the best damage for grapple kills, and with high speed and stealth will put you in the best position. I would recommend you avoid Tanks and Gunners late in the game as they can't be one-hit killed via grappling if powered up.
Boosting Method: You can also boost this in a private match with a guest signed in (and 2 controllers).

Hi all, would love some feedback as to why I'm getting negative votes! Did I miss something?

Didnt realize that you could boost this in a private match. Thanks for the tip!

This can be done in a "private" game as well. All you need is a second controller, The account you wish to gain the achievement on should be the one gaining the kills. This should be done with the assassin, just be sure to get "Behind" the 2nd controller and hit to grapple.
The best way to accomplish this is the Assassin who can achieve one hit kills if you grapple someone from behind (LT). Being the quickest character in addition to having invisibility she is the best candidate.

@ Unstable, why should he add that? The achievement clearly tells you that it's one match.

It says in the description "in a Crossfire match". If you can't figure out that it has to be in one match from that then I don't know what to say.

The following video is a guide I made to knock out 6 achievements in less than 10 min in a private crossfire match, including the "Grappler" achievement.
One problem you may find even in a private match is having enough time to get the required kills before the other bots destroy one of the money balls. Using this guide, you will have plenty of time.
Here is a step-by-step written guide of what I did in the video:
- Go into Crossfire lobby and hit X button to make match private, then hit Y button on a second controller to join and sign in guest account. Start match and select the Tank for your main profile and the Assassin for the guest account.
- Move the Tank over towards the other side and use the hover jump to get on the platform right outside the other players base. With other controller, move Assassin out towards the Tank.
- Switch to the Tanks secondary weapon (LB) and shoot the Assassin twice so she barely has any life left (RT). Go up to her and use the grapple (LT) to finish her off. Do this 10 times to get the "Grappler" achievement. You will also get the "Hot Streak" achievement after 3 kills.
- If you knock the Assassin off the platform to kill her without shooting her first you will get the "Outta My House!" achievement.
- Put the Assassin in the upgrade menu (up on Dpad), and kill her to get the "Caught 'em Nappin" achievement. (Had slight issues doing this the first time in the video)
- Kill her a few more times for a total of 15 to get the "Sacker" achievement.
- Drop down and finish off the money ball to win the match and get "MVP" achievement.

you can get this achievement in a private match. all you need is someone else, set up a private match, then get the 10 required grapple kills. make sure that you weaken the person youre trying to kill before going for the grapple kill, since not all grapple kills are 1 hit deaths.
Every character can grapple but some have to do it by switching to their secondary weapon (via ) and then doing a grapple (). These characters are:
- Assault
- Tank
- Support
Next some characters can hit with their main weapon out in order to a grapple. These are:
- Sniper
- Gunner
And then the Assassin can just for a grapple.
Simply use any character and their respective method for 10 Grapples during a SINGLE match. However you should have this in no time. Bots do not count.
Alternatively you can boost this in a private match via two controllers and a guest.
