The best way to get this achievement is to load up a local two player game with the "GO and Movement" house rules.
This way if you land on GO, you can select to move yourself to either Chance or Community Chest.
Of course only auction off properties cheaply, splitting them between pieces if this is your last achievement.
This adds slightly better odds for this achievement if you're unlucky like me.
I won this over c cards and games.
The card that takes you to GO and lets you collect $200 does not count. Also there are mixed reviews, some have said you can get exactly $100, but others had to get more. Either way, just keep doing it until the achievement unlocks.
It has been suggested that negative cards count towards the overall.

Just thought I'd mention that it can't be exactly M100, has to be at least one over. As I just found out -_-

It clearly says MORE THAN, in the achievement description so I didn't feel the need to say it.

I can confirm, this doesn't have to be done with just one card. I got it winning $10 for second place in a beauty contest (I feel so pretty).

The card that says move to go and collect M200 will not give the achievement for collecting that way so if you get that one use the option to move to another space.

I can confirm that I started a game and after about 3 turns I landed on a community chest space and collected exactly M100 and the achievement popped so it doesn't have to be more than M100.

I first got a -15, then +100, then +10 in the same game and didn't get it. A little later got a +200 and got it. So Im thinking negative cards count overall.

I was having difficulty landing on either Community Chest or Chance, even while splitting all of the properties up between two players. I gave all of the properties to my 2nd player, and I landed on a community chest and then a chance the following roll (both positive cards) finished this very quickly after i made the change. Not sure if it was just luck but if you're having trouble like I was it's worth a try.

I got 1000 G on Xbox ONE and 360 versions.
By KAIDO on 23 Feb 2015 10:30
For me the x1 version had to be over but the cards are cumulative. In the 360 version I had to hit it with a single card.

I'm on Xbox One and managed to get this achievements just now in 2 different save games; so definitely cumulative.
By SanJol on 03 Jun 2015 13:17
Definitely cumulative but negative ones don't take away from the total gained. Had +100, -50 +20 and managed to get it

Definitely communicative, but giving all of the property to your opponent does not seem to work in your favor. I landed on five and all of them but the last was negative.

Second place in a beauty contest and only 2 players

Just wanted to mention something that happened to me tonight. I got a $100 card and the achievement didn't pop and the achievement tracking was set to 99%. Then I got $10 for second place in a beauty contest - second place :( - and the achievement popped.
By Mr Gimpson on 15 Oct 2017 15:36
Gibson, It's because the achievement is cumulative. 100 is 99% of 101, you have to get more than 100$ from cards.
I got two 100$ in a row and got the achievement.

This whole achievement is a mess.
I did all other achievements in the 6 player local game. Got M100 and was at 99% for the achievement. I decided to bankrupt the other 5 players to get 14/15 achievements then started a 2 player local game.
In the second game I lost M100 and then gained M100. so in 2 COMBINED games I would still be at M100 lol. So negatives did not matter for me and this did not have to be done in the same game.

Yo this achievements wack. I got every single achievement except for this one, all during one 20 minute game. I'm now going on 3 hours later and over 6 games played, lol I still don't have this stupid achievement.

I'd like to add that when you land on a property you can do the auction but both players withdraw to not spend any money.

I guess as how the description is, in theory original the meaning was, get more then 100 with a single card. There is one community chest card that gives you 200 in one time. Probably the meaning was, to pull that card.
But in practice this is not and this solution is right, so thumbs up.
By KGI KlikoNL on 10 Mar 2023 12:35
on Xbox One u can unlock the achievement with 100m or more
on Xbox 360 should be more than 100m
By KAIDO on 23 Feb 2015 10:25
Solid solution, but I would like to add that I noticed this achievement has a progress percentage tied to it. Might be helpful to others to see how much more money they may need or something.

My experience was this: was just going for this achievement so I setup 2 person game, each property that was landed on was put up for auction that we then both lost … no sense playing the game just for this achievement; this also saved money for other fees. I hit the luxury tax once but it didn't seem to impact things. On my second time around the board I hit Community Chest and inherited M100 … the achievement popped.
So money paid for non-card fees won't impact the amount you need and just getting M100 is enough. Hope others have the luck I had!
