From the main menu select Single Player / Single Event / 450 then select your track of choice. Now select "Race Options" and change Race Type to The Real Thing (all other settings can be of your choosing) then select "Start Race".

Now the race will consist of 5 sessions: Qualifying, Heat, Semi, Last Chance Qualifier & Main Event.

Here are the finishing positions required to make the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ):

Qualifying: any finishing position
Heat: finish outside the top 4
Semi: finish outside the top 5

Now you will be in the Last Chance Qualifier and you must finish in the top 4 to qualify for the Main Event and unlock this achievement .
