This achievement is for defeating the Apex Azuros from the defense mission urgent quest in the hub quests. Once you finish 3* quests you get the urgent quest to defend the village. Finish that and the achievement will unlock.

Seems this needs to be the Hub Missions not the Village Missions as this doesn't seem to unlock playing solo.
