This one can be done cumulatively over time, alternatively if you'd rather get this out of the way sooner rather than later an easy and quick method to grind Zeni is by playing the 2 star Sonic event quest:
GOTTA HOARD FAST
this quest grants the player a Gold Egg by finishing the quest with an S+ Rank, along with a random amount of Buddy Rings (these can be exchanged for both the Tails and Sonic buddy gear).
The best part about this quest is that getting an S+ rank can take anywhere from up to 2 mins, while its possible to do this quest solo and still get an S+ rank after a few planning attempts, its always worth playing online with others as this greatly improves the speed of collection.
if you go off the rewards alone this is possible in just over an hour, that's 20k x 50 = 1mil.

When does this quest become available? I’m very new to all this so appreciate any help/clarification 😂

The quest should be available as soon as you get the ability to go on hub quests, if you speak to the Palico on the red box next to the steelworks and go to "add ons" and it should give you upwards of 7 pages of quests and events to accept, if you accept them all it'll be available under "event quests" in the hub.
