This achievement is for mounting and riding monsters while using the Ruby & Gold Wirebugs, which give various bonuses like more materials being dropped from a monster being attacked by the ridden beast. To the best of my knowledge, those bugs are only found in the zones added with the Sunbreak expansion. The number of monsters that need to be ridden is pretty small as I got this early on in the expansion, so the number is probably something like 5 or 10 monsters being ridden.
