Monster Hunter Rise

To unlock the Mini Crown Plaque achievement in Monster Hunter Rise, you'll need to hunt all 43 base game monsters that can have variable sizes and have them be small enough to reward a miniature crown. Heads-up: this will be a grind. You can track your progress on the last page of your Guild Card, which will display crowns next to hunted monster sizes for ones you have earned. In High Rank hub quests, the default chance for a mini crown is 3% (1% in Low Rank hub quests, while Village and Arena fights cannot award mini crowns), although certain quests — some Events in particular — can boost the odds, with some only granting a slightly higher chance and others guaranteeing a crown.

Formatting options in achievement guides are much more limited than what we can do in actual site articles, so you should check out our Monster Hunter Rise crowns guide for full tables of every quest that can improve mini crown odds in the base game, as well as quests that will be available in the Sunbreak expansion that up the odds for base game monsters for this achievement. Rise offers six special missions which guarantee mini crowns for Aknosom, Apex Diablos, Bishaten, Lagombi, Tigrex, and Zinogre, plus a further six with somewhat boosted odds (Apex Mizutsune, Apex Rathalos, Apex Zinogre, Nargacuga, Rajang, and Teostra), but that still means you would need to farm the other 31 at the base 3% rate in High Rank quests where the monster you need is one of the quest targets. Eight more Rise monsters have boosted mini rates in Sunbreak's Master Rank quests (Arzuros, Basarios, Bazelgeuse, Diablos, Great Wroggi, Khezu, Magnamalo, and Rathian, all guaranteed mini crowns), so if you plan on playing the expansion, you might want to hold off on grinding for these ones as you'll be able to get them guaranteed in Sunbreak. Master Rank also upgrades the base mini crown chance from 3% to 6%, so you might want to wait and grind out fights there instead for double the chance at a crown in any non-boosted hunt.

To reiterate, this achievement and its partner one for the large crowns are a crazy grind and will likely take hundreds of hours alone, although you should easily get all of the progression, completion, and cumulative achievements done on your way to completing your crown collections. Happy hunting!
