Sure i have lunch with my aunt tomorrow and when i get back home i will add the name of the scrolls. It’s technically all monsters except allmother narwa. Even apexes count for this.

where do i find my trinkets to see how many im missing?

Thank you so much. I remember the shop keeper gave me a trinket, but does it do anything or is it just for the collection. I have missed the last 6 or 7 jackpots for the trinkets. Bad luck. Still have 7 trinkets to collect.

@gemueseapfel . You need to be in an offline lobby then visit your room and talk to the house keeper cat and see customization option. The first 12 were my trinket ones. But i picked all relics messages first so many yours will be at the end?

You NEED to complete a quest to have a chance at the lottery. Failing or leaving a quest does not work.

Does the list of scrolls at the argosy appear as they do in hunter notes?

I just obtained my "Sturdy Padlock" achievement at just under 300 hours played, with 629 monsters hunted. The time played value and monsters hunted may differ between people. I personally never experienced the afformentioned "Lucky Jackpot." This achievement will take some time, so I wouldn't stress too much over the jackpots, as they will come with time. Assuming you are achievement hunting: While you are shooting for your 1000 monsters hunted, you will experience many lotteries, however, the trinkets are still VERY uncommon to obtain. Best of luck to everyone! (You may need it lol)

@synyster6 did u use lottery from cat shop or the dude with paper over his face? I was always doing the cat ones until i started grinding my village quest as shown in video. Then i always used the human shop keeper. I missed trinkets like 7-8 times back to back but i was hitting jackpots in almost eveey other sale. After a random jackpot the shopkeer told me i was lucky and it was a super lottery or such and gave me a trinker for free. I omit it because appearently it is not a guaranteed thing to happen or when it happens people dont notice it and i dont want to cause confusion over a rather rng function. Thanks

The game is ramdom thats why its an rng achievement. The friends who i was doing crowns with never got the lucky free one either. Or even if he did he never noticed . (Tbh i was spamming to just get passed the dialogue thinking it was gonna be some extra potion you randomly get from talking to them after getting a sale and if it wasnt my last 3 I would have never noticed, so many people may have gotten it and not noticed it , I always pay extra attention to everything) But he told me he barely hit jackpots. For me out of every 10 lottery i was hitting jackpot 7/10 times . Technically only missed trinkets jackpots😂 call me lucky

And btw u are so lucky to have it at only killing 630. My friend is at 1300 kills and still missing 1. Rng is definitely a pain in the neck 😅

@Gutsy Goddess Lol! RNG sure is a pain. My rolls with the jackpot were pretty evenly divided between Kagero and Maido, but I read online that only Kagero can give you lottery tickets during sales. (I don't know if this is true so proceed with caution to those reading this) So, I started exclusively doing the lottery at the human after I finished all of my hanging scrolls, and needed 8 trinkets. (I never obtained any lottery tickets throughout the game, from any method, period) My last trinket that I needed spanned around 80 hours of gameplay. (cohoot trinket) I may have gotten lucky with that, but my crowns and monsters killed are nowhere close to your own. According to true achievements we have similar playtime, (as of you entering the 100% club) and I'm at just under half of the total crowns needed. Any tips in relation to that aside from the guaranteed crown quests? Or does it fall under the same RNG umbrella as the "Sturdy Padlock" achievement. Thank you for your response and updates!

Yes! Best tip is to only kill if u are at least 60% sure its a crown. How? By measuring. Dont even eat dango. Just launch mission bring a shock trap and measure the legs. It may not work for rakna or almudron well but it saves time. When i got all crown i still needed 150 kills or so. Because i only killed when I thought it would be a crown. There are also videos in how to measure on youtube. Mostly put them to sleep but if u are already playing bowgun u should be fine doing that

Oh i read everywhere that there are free lottery tickets but all i ever got was some random items and never a ticket so i dunno . Maybe extremely unlucky. Everything is so rng so u cants be sure if others advise work for u. But trust my crown sniping advice , launch, measure, decide, kill, back out. 😅

The order of lottery trinket is based on the order u obtained them since theyre random. But the monster scroll are definitely same order. 😊

You will. RNG is painful sometimes. Keep at it and it will be yours soon

I strongly recommend doing the Village 2* Great Baggi hunt for most players instead of the roly poly lanterns. It will help you get to 1000 large monsters, and with 7* gear you can have it captured easily within a minute of starting the mission. Very little RNG. Capturing would be mandatory to set the mission end timer to 20 seconds, but there should be no worries about materials for traps and tranq bombs, because you can just have your argosy collecting the mats if you happen to not have farmed enough by now.

I've been grinding the 10 kill scrolls, and I've found that random people on multiplayer are often quite bad at this game. Maybe this was so obvious to everyone that no one has said it, but to make this as easy as possible for yourself -

After beating all of the Hub HR7 quests at least once for the sake of completion, don't bother trying to kill the apex monsters via those quests to grind the kills. 95% of the time I tried, there was at least 1 person who carts multiple times (if not all 3), and eventually someone gets bad luck, gets combo'ed, and you fail. Just do rampages. It's a virtually guaranteed win, and it counts. Sometimes you have to cycle through the HR levels trying to do a join request, but I always eventually get one when I cycle through. Also, you need 50 rampages for another achievement anyway.

Everything else except Valstrax should be pretty easy or at least doable in a few tries. For Valstrax, your options are to solo it, which depending on the weapon you use, can be quite tough, or roll the dice with randos. Completing HR7 quests will give you 2-3 kills, and another is available over in the event quests. "The Evil Star from Beyond" in HR7 is the easiest as it is not Advanced, but you can do "The Crimson Glow" (the original non-repeatable quest you get at HR100) via join request. This leaves you with 6-7 more kills to hit 10.

To make Valstrax easier, you want as much health and defense as possible to prevent 1 shot kills:

re: Cat vs Dog - Cat has power drum, which raises defense (and is generally better with status effects). On the other hand, dog allows you to mount up and run around while chugging pots.

-Dango: Weakener, Defender, Moxie/Adrenaline. To ensure they all activate: Go to the Argosy and buy raw meat. Take the raw meat to the canteen and do Motley Mix with it. Once completed, Yomogi will want to talk to you and give you Dango tickets, which makes all of the Dango 100% chance to activate.

-Armortalon/Armorcharm/Powertalon/Powercharm (duh)

-Mega Armorskin: Go to Argosy after EVERY quest attempt, and check the Rare Items for Pale Extract. A 10 stack is 5k points, but if you're HR100+ you probably have 200k+ points.

-Keep full stacks of the following in your inventory:
Nulberry (for Dragonblight)
Mega, Max, and Ancient Pots
Herbal Medicine (I use them for health when I just need a small amount to top off)
Mega Armorskin
Flash Bomb
Well Done Steak
Farcaster (quickly remove yourself from danger or to refill supplies)
Dust of Life (drop on stunned people or others not at full health)

Hardshell powder and Adamant seeds also stack, but have a 3 minute duration, so I don't bother. If you're still struggling, give it a go. I'm mainly covering defensive stuff here, as the hard part is not dying. Obviously, Mega DemonDrug, etc help, as the faster you kill it, the easier it is. Consider binding some of these things to your radial menus to make usage faster. Don't be afraid to pound max and ancient pots, you can always farcast back to get more.

-Always run around and get spiritbugs to up your health and stam before engaging Valstrax. It's stunning to see the number of people who don't do this, run in, and get instantly carted.

-Always keep yourself topped off at 100% health

If anyone else has better suggestions, please let me know. Grinding this has been painful, as I'm not the one carting 95% of the time.

A note on the lottery - when I googled, there didn't seem to be a lot info out there on lottery tickets. The easiest way to get lottery tickets for me was -

-wait for a sale
-go to Kagero
-sell all of your normal ammo 2, shrapnel ammo 1
-back all the way out of Kagero's menus
-go back into kagero's menus
-buy a 9999 stack of shrapnel ammo 1 and normal ammo 2
-back all the way out of Kagero's menus
-Sometimes, he will grant you 3 lottery tickets or 3 mega pots, and sometimes you get nothing

We use those 2 specific ammo types becase they are 1z each during sales, and they also sell for 1z each, so you don't lose money.

Kagero vs Maido the cat in GH: Some people claim to have better luck with Kagero, but I've seen no data to support this.

Lottery tickets seem to have no influence on the odds of obtaining a trinket, but I always use a ticket when a trinket is available, just in case

Just to clarify since a lot of people seems confused about this: the hunt 10 monsters for a scroll is just to hunt. You don’t have to kill, capturing is fine and will still count towards the 10 for the scrolls.

Technically hunt means both capture or slay is acceptable. Capture means only capture and slay means only slay which is used for every elder dragon and bosses

Yeah, the solution says kill though, and it seems to be a massively common misconception just from talking to randoms that only kills count. To clarify what I mean: the solution should say “hunt” instead of “kill”, and could probably benefit from clarifying explicitly that any hunt counts, since it’s so commonly misunderstood.

I notice the lottery showed up when I was out on an expedition to take pics of endemic life. Might be quicker for the lottery part to show up if someone can confirm that it works.

A small tip, when you complete 100 lotteries, you will be given one of the trinkets from the lottery you dont have. So you really only have to get extremely lucky 11 times...

I actually had mentioned that in the guide and referee to it as the lucky free trinket but people were saying it doesn’t exist and if you read the first comments u will see I mentioned that i omit it since apparently it doesn’t work like this. Its either 100 lottery or landing a jackspot x amount of time because when i got mine it was a jackspot and then the merchant told me that i have been the lucky one bla bla bla and he wanted me to have this trinket .

I've been using Oboro in Elgado for lottery, and I've gone 3/3 hitting the jackpot on a figurine when using a lottery ticket when a trinket is available. So either I am the luckiest person on TA or lottery ticket is a guaranteed jackpot in Sunbreak. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I'm now 6/6 on lottery trinket jackpots while using a lottery ticket. I've seen enough, Lottery Tickets are a guaranteed jackpot.

you can stop talking right there, because there's no "or" to that statement. Tickets did nothing for lottery chance in base Rise, and they do nothing in Sunbreak. Create a hard save before doing the lottery, then run it once without a ticket and once with a ticket. You will get the exact same result every single time since the outcome is predetermined.

So after 9 in a row, I finally didn't get a jackpot. So I guess it's safe to say that the odds of getting a jackpot are orders of magnitude higher than base rise.

Oboro def gives waaaay more jackpots. I'm 3 in a row rn and I got 3 of the toys needed for sturdy padlock. Kept trying kamura village merchant and couldn't get anything but once I did oboro I keep hitting jackpots. So it's def higher chance than kamurs village merchants. Let's all agree to disagree if you don't think so.

Im getting a lot of Jackpots but none have the trinkets. its a bit frustrating.

Sunbreak merchant / DLC is way more consistent with Jackpots & Trinkets. Comments above say that's not the case, however, my experience has been different. Really digging deep into MHR after sunbreak was a blessing. Both crowns and jackpots.

This game is absolute RNG and anything can happen. I actually hit jackpot on base game merchant more…. What works for me may not work for u and vice versa

I'm not sure at what point in the story you unlock it, or if it counts for the achievement, but there appears to be a fifth story-based scroll called "The Leader".

It's pre-Sunbreak (I haven't started the dlc yet), and pre-Valstrax (I am only HR77 at the moment).

Is there any way to monitor your progress? I thought maybe there was somewhere in your room that you could see all your scrolls and things but I don't think it's there.

Yes you can. By going into offline mode then your room. When trying to customize you can see what items you actually have
