How to unlock the Bourgeois Hunter achievement in MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD - Definitive Guide
I have an alternate way of getting the achievement, though it requires you to be further on the game than the bandit mantle method.
Unlike the research point one, this achievement requires you to have 1 million zenny at hand at one time.
As you progress through the game, you'll begin to unlock investigations. These are generally randomly generated, and even have modifiers to the quest.
One of these modifiers is money earned. These are perfectly capable of breaking 50k+ zenny for a single quest in high rank.
Combined with the daily login voucher, your money gained from a 10-15 minute quest can easily break 100k.
Obviously if you want to use this method you'll need to do the mission solo. Taking multiple hunters into the quest will divide the rewards up between you all. I personally find that solo quests are easier due to the hp scaling of the monsters, however.

10.5k from "slay 10 hornetaurs(crickets)", takes 2 minutes plus loading screens. Sell the loot for 8k. That's 18.5k per 2 minutes.

Here's a tip. Go to the stockpile merchant and sell anything and everything until you get to 1,000,000, wait for the achievement to pop, then immediately manually close the game. Doing this does not let the game autosave therefore when you load your game again, your save data puts you back before you sold everything.

To unlock this you have to have the full 1m zenny on hand all at once, however this achievement is actually easier than it may seem, and there is a specialized piece of gear that makes a huge difference in how fast you can obtain it.
Once you reach a certain point in the 5* quests, the armory will give you an optional quest called 'Redefining the Power Couple', you will want to do this immediately as it will unlock the Bandit Mantle, which will cause monsters to drop shinies every few hits. These are sell items that range from 500 each for monsters such as Great Jagras, to multiple thousands for high rank wyverns.
From there, it's just a matter of collecting enough of these scales from playing the game as you would do otherwise! And to make it even easier, you can also sell off your entire box once you have enough to break 1m (I did this when my total on hand was around 580k), unlock the achievement, then quit without saving to keep all your items and parts.

Do you know if it is cumulative or has to have 1mil on hand?

It has to be on-hand, it did not pop until I hit the 1m mark at one time, edited to include that.

Once you finish the main game you should have enough monster parts on hand to get the achievement. Just go into your item box, and start selling things till you get the achievement to pop. Then you can quit WITHOUT saving the game. Once you reload it you'll have your items back and keep the achievement! Here's the video where I did it myself to show that it works.

This is the quickest way to do this.

I just got this achievement and found a quicker way. Save you're game, talk to the Provisions guy in Astera. Sell everything of value until the achievement pops then dashboard out and go back in the game and you will still have everything you sold.
There are three main ways to get this trophy:
1) Save-scum. The idea of doing this may make your heart drop, but it's possible. Monster Hunter does not autosave a lot of things until you actually head out into the field, return to base, manually save etc.
In that way, you can simply go up to your item box, select 'Sell Items', and just start selling everything you own by the bulk until you hit a million zenny. If you're a good way into the game, you'll probably hit it pretty quick. When the trophy pops, you can immediately quit application or turn your console off or whatever and you'll get back with all your items again.
If you're terrified of doing that, which is reasonable, a million zenny isn't that hard to achieve naturally.
2) Bandit Mantle. At one point, some way through doing the 5-star quests, the armory will give you an optional quest titled 'Redefining the Power Couple'. The reward for doing this is a new tool called the Bandit Mantle, which causes trade-in items to drop from monsters while it's active.
Using this often, particularly against high rank elder dragons or powerful wyverns, will pretty quickly shoot up your loot.
3) Investigations/Vouchers. You amass investigation quests pretty quickly, and they're worth scrolling through. The high rank ones tend to give a fair amount of zenny, and difficulty modifiers - such as lower time limit, lower player limit etc. increase that zenny amount too. In addition, some investigations have a direct zenny modifier. If you find a good one, it's not uncommon to get a relatively easy, repeatable investigation that gives you in the realm of 30k-50k zenny. Not only that, but you get a Lucky Voucher from your daily login bonus that doubles the amount of zenny you get.
If you do these investigations, plus voucher, solo (zenny is split among all players but your voucher only applies to you), and don't faint, you can get well up from 60,000 to 100,000 zenny per mission and even be able to repeat it 3-8 times. This in combination with the Bandit Mantle means that before long you'll probably have a majority stake in the entire universe.

I wouldn't worry too much about this in the beginning of the game. Spend your money as you need to upgrade your character, and wait until after the story on your journey to Rank 100 to start saving zenny. Many of the later quests give tens of thousands of zenny each, and rarer monster items will sell for quite a bit as well (though be careful of what you sell, as they are primarily used for crafting). You need to have this much all at one time, and it will come in time as you grind toward HR100 and the gold crowns.

They give money for quests, and you can also sell accumulated materials and items. However, as in the case of research points, you don’t have to worry about money. As long as you knock out all the trophies, you will accumulate them with great probability.

If you feel that you have a sufficient number of resources to sell, then we collect a million zeny, and then simply exit the game without saving. As a result, we get a trophy and the resources remain in place.

The trophy is not cumulative - the entire amount must be in your pocket at once
