Once you load in with Iceborne installed, go up to the smithy. Once he gives you an arena quest about the clutch claw (called "Learning the Clutch" and under the Low/High Rank list), just finish that and you'll get your achievement. It walks you through the basics and is quite helpful, so it's a win-win.
Thanks Kamikazy117 for the correction there.

It is called "Learning the Clutch" and is given as a 1-star Low/High Rank optional quest.

It is in the Low Rank/High Rank Section under 1 star.

i also can't seem to find this could you edit your solution with a bit better of an explanation as to how to get this quest.

Thanks, I assumed that it'd appear as a master rank quest. It never occurred to me to check for new low rank quests.

Yeah I just immediately assumed it was under the Master Rank section, my bad.

Your solution says that it's an arena quest, which it's not. However, your comment correctly identifies that this is a 1 star Low/High rank optional quest, maybe you could put that in the solution instead of having the information in the comments.

What Tim said, why not add in solution? Optional, 1 star quest. Instead have to look comment for info. Game gives quests left and right, everyone cant be bothered read them, or do them rightaway.

What is the name of the quest? I've progressed way beyond the starting section of Iceborne (MR14) and I can't find any quest related to the clutch claw.

I don't understand what better info you want? As soon as Iceborne is downloaded and you load in the game, the smithy will have a quest for you. It literally tells you the name of it in the dialogue, gives you a prompt that it's available and goes on the board as "Learning the Clutch" under Low/High Rank. I really, truly, deeply don't understand what's confusing about those statements for you guys.
