There’s now an event quest that has a guaranteed Goldspring macaque spawn. It’s called “Monkey business”, and is for hunting a (guaranteed small gold crown) Furious Rajang. The macaque spawns in Area 6, in the hot spring in the middle of the map.
You first need to complete the Furious Rajang special assignment before you’re able to take on the event quest.

Worked like a charm. Only took 30 seconds. My time of day was morning in game. Idk if that matters. Top solution for sure.

This is for capturing a goldspring macaque, a gold-furred variant of the pearlspring macaque (the little furball monkeys that bathe in the hotsprings).
From what I can tell it has to be daytime for the gold ones to spawn, but this could be wrong. I actually found two of them during the same optional quest, about 20 mins apart. The first I found in the middle of the hot springs on a rock (see gameclip for location) as soon as I entered area 2. The second I came across much later in the quest, running back to its hole from the hot spring in area 6. They are rather slow and it seemed to take the same path that they all do when running away, so as long as you're looking for the gold fur this should be an easy capture.

- First, I Caught, And Turned In, The Three Penguins And The Bone Fish Research Requests.
- The Next Request Was To Find The Golden Monkey, And There He Was.
(Area 6, Next To The Lip Of The Hot Springs, Running Around With Other Monkeys)
- Use The Ghillie Mantle If You Do Not Want To Chase It.
I Did Read Somewhere That You Can Find One On The Quest "Monkey Bussiness" After You Beat Furious Rajang. But I Can Not Confirm.
