How to unlock the Step Into the Arena achievement in Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 - Definitive Guide

After you start the game, press 
and choose Online (third option) from the menu.
At the next screen, you can choose Public or Host Private. I chose Host Private.
From the next menu there are three choices. I chose Versus.
The game will create an online lobby, from which you can invite your boosting partner: 
INVITE PLAYERS.
After your partner joins the session, a 30 second countdown timer will start. Event selection for the first event is random between Head-to-Head, Two-Wheel Skills, Freestyle and Timed Destruction.
Achievement pops after the event finishes.
