How to unlock the Coastal Series Conqueror achievement in Monster Jam - Definitive Guide
Completing the game on the pro difficulty does take a bit of getting used to when compared to the normal setting.
As with the normal setting you will need to place 1st in each event to unlock this achievement.
Race Event Tips
I found that it's best to get into the lead as quickly as possible, there are several reasons for this
- when out in the lead you get to destroy the majority of obstacles before your oppornents, earning big points but more importantly bonus boost.
- you don't get tangled up in the brawl of the mid pack, these vehicles love to lock wheels and generally just get in the way, by being out in front you avoid it.
- use your blue boost up as soon as you see a good passing opportunity or nice straight, you can earn more quite easily and it's better to be out in front.
- if you know the track and know you are about to get some big destruction boost bonus, use what you have and just blast thru to try and build a good lead.
- you will need to use the shortcuts, especially the ones where there are lots of destructables, but make sure you can take the shortcut smoothly, as getting tangled up in the sceenery on this difficulty can ruin your race.
- probably the best tip is when you are out in the lead, pulse your boost by regularly pushing the button, this way you keep up a better than average top speed, but don't run the risk of overheating your engine.
Stadium Event Tips
Stadium Races
- these are very short so knowing the track is the main trick
- use you boost on the straights, or use the pulsing trick
- don't go over car stacks too quickly as you want speed not air in these events.
Freestyle Events
These are the hardest element of the entire game and can get very frustrating.
There is already a guide to completing a freestyle event on TA written by jochta which is linked to below,.
I found it really useful, to add to it I would suggest
- start with the donut close to the smash objects as it can be a bit tricky to link donuts into other tricks
- try to get your multiplier as high as possible on your first combo as you get the 2 x 1st time bonus for each new trick and you will need a good overall score
- As mentioned in the guide wheelies can be tricky, especially when trying to link them, but with practice you can hit a car stack and then wheelie after landing to the next object.

General tips for getting 1st place in the races in Pro Mode...
1) Avoid the scrum at the start, let the AI go ahead of you. They will inevitably drive straight into a nearby obstacle which you can avoid and get past.
2) Avoid obstacles, especially piles of cars, they throw you all over the place. Steer around them.
3) Learn the tracks and use all of the shortcuts.
4) Use boost to accelerate away from slow turns or on straights.
5) Once you have the lead, sparingly hit obstacles to slow your opponents down if you need to. Still avoid cars!
6) The elimination events are easiest, make sure you survive the first couple of laps. Once the field is down to 4 it's much easier to get past and take the lead.
