Monsters can be donated to the Monster Army by talking to the Monster Keeper directly underneath the fast travel point in the Keepers' Stronghold:
You can donate both eggs or already hatched monsters. Unshifted, light, or dark does not matter. Donations give points based on the monster level that provide rewards at certain intervals, but this has no bearing on the achievement.
If you're like me and only periodically donated eggs over the course of a playthrough, you'll probably still have a large number to donate to hit 100 after you've completed the game. My preferred farming method to mop up was to fast travel to Mountain Path and run to the fast travel point in Blue Caves, killing all monsters along the way, at which point you can fast travel back and begin the process again.
With high-level monsters, you should be able to 1-shot any early game monster groups, earning you 6 stars and an increased chance of getting an egg (or two). I personally used Long Slash on a level 40 critical-specced Catzerker but any AOE attack should work well. I was able to get roughly 60 eggs in an hour using this method.

GStachelek's guide is great for farming eggs, this is an alternate, and riskier way of earning the achievement. I do not recommend doing this way unless you have done everything else.
Since you can also donate monsters, you can use the fairly standard cloud save backups exploit to get this achievement.
For those unfamiliar, it only works if you have cloud saves available: save and quit the game at the monster donation guy, then quit out of the game entirely, then load back jn. This will sync your save to the Xbox network. Once you load back in, choose "donate monsters" and then you can just continuously mash A to keep donating monsters. This will skip rewards and ignore prompts as you go. Once the achievement pops, do not quite the game and simply use the home button and go to managing the install of monster sanctuary on your xbox and delete the save. This force quits the game and when you load back in, it will sync the cloud save from before you donated the monsters.
Again, I would only do this if it's your last achievement in case something goes wrong

When you get to the Keeper's Stronghold you will come across an NPC just underneath the teleport stone. Once you talk to him you will have the options to donate eggs or donate monster.
Each egg or monster you donate will increase the Monster Army Strength and their level. Each individual monster donated will give you items and materials to use plus more items each Monster Army Strength level you surpass.
You can see the monsters that you donate in the menu so you will be able to count and track how many you have left to do. Each page has a grid pattern of 4x8 so each page will have 32 monsters for a total of 4 pages. You should also be at around 120,000 Army Strength when the trophy unlocks.
