This is unlocked after defeating your first boss, either Daedalus or Talos. When the rail splits, they meet back up at the champion upgrade. Select any choice to unlock the achievement.
For Daedalus, taking care of the bombs before they explode is the big issue. If your primary clan is Hellhorned, you have a surplus of Torches that can handle the bombs outside of Plating Seal (bombs have a damage shield). Prioritize the bombs and set your floors accordingly.
For Talos, she attacks throughout the fight and the answer is more about mitigating her extra effects. Empowering Offense is more about keeping your tanks alive, and Soul Sucker negates the damage your tanks would do. Protective Sin moving your frontline back is the hardest to deal with and requires everyone on the floor to have proper health.
