How to unlock the Culinary Arts achievement in Moonglow Bay - Definitive Guide
Here are some tips as you head toward cooking every recipe:
• Batch size has zero impact on mastery, always cook 1/x when going only for mastery. Maxing your batches is good to earn money on a high-profit meal.
• One-star and two-star results have zero impact on mastery.
• Earn three stars three times to go from Basic to Novice, three more times to hit Intermediate, and three more times to hit Advanced. Note that not every recipe needs to be maxed out (Advanced), so make sure to note the required level before going too far (thanks to Maxumilli0n for pointing that last part out)
• There's currently a typo in the "grilled fish steaks with mango avocado salsa" recipe prerequisite, it says you need Shark Steak mastery, but it means Deep Sea Steaks.
• If you mess up a recipe before the last step, you can exit the kitchen and get your ingredients back. Useful for recipes with tough-to-catch requirements.
• Cook your recipes with the strictest requirements first (i.e. Sail Fish) so that you don't accidentally use those ingredients in another recipe (i.e. Any Fish).
• Buying the Galley for your boat is handy so that you can cook while at sea.
• You can see which recipes you have already done in the Journal, as these have pictures next to them. The recipes that are missing a picture you still need to do for the achievement. (thanks to F77Bloky for pointing this out!)
• There are a few recipes you have to buy at the Sea Market, that vendor never gets new recipes. There is at least one recipe you get from a side quest (Rose will be singing to start it).
• You have to get greens on the Fillet step, no reds, to earn 3 stars on that meal.
• If you're looking for lobsters, crabs, and shrimp; max out your crab pots from Abi and spam them all in one spot. Sleep 24hrs (in your boat, preferably) and then retrieve all your traps. Repeat in other biomes.
• Two renovation rewards are incredibly useful:
• If you need large fish en masse, the fishing spot under the white sphinx rock formation in Open Chill (NW corner of the map) always gives Frosted Catfish. Combine with one of the renovation rewards to pull in the large fish very quickly.
I hope this helps!

Man Rainbow Rice Bowl made this the worst. Gave me way more trouble than the sail fish.

Phew! That's better than 3 starring everything. My controller was bound to be thrown at the wall otherwise. Thanks!
