How to unlock the Farewell, friend achievement in Moonscars - Definitive Guide

You will find a clay mould statue (like the type you can activate in battles) standing alone in a hallway in The Depths, on the path to The Nursery. This is Ion. Activate the statue and exhaust dialogue. You can find him in the Mould Workshop afterwards in the upper left room. Exhaust all dialogue, and talk to him every time you return to the Workshop. I'm not totally sure that talking to him often is necessary, but that's what worked for me.

You will know you succeeded when you defeat the moon boss at Castle Apex. Ion will appear on the right side of the boss area if you have done it successfully. Before fighting Zoran, talk to Ion again to complete the achievement.

Did everything talk to him every time, talked to him in apex, no achievement.

EDIT: You need to continue to mould workshop and speak with him there on the way to final fight to achievement unlocked.

In the Depths location, next to the transition to Earth Bowels: East, you will find a body similar to the ones we raise to help. This is Ion. Talk to him and he will appear in the workshop at the top left. I recommend visiting him more often and talking. After the Red Irma boss, he should appear on the right (if you've talked to him enough). Talk to him. Next, he will stand in front of the final boss of the game again, talk to him again and the trophy is yours.
