How to unlock the Full Suit achievement in Morphite - Definitive Guide

There is very little information about this achievement online and at one point I though it was glitched. I'll cover what I experienced and hopefully it helps. Apologies for the long solution but I wanted to include as much information as possible. Bear in mind that the majority of the game is randomly generated, which may lead to some frustration in finding scans, materials or chambers.

Upgrading the suit takes a few steps. The first step is locate some rare scans. The very first mission teaches you about scanning and you should be scanning everything as you go - selling scans is a good source of income anyway and obviously you need those rare scans for this achievement. Remember that similar items may be different quality, so even though you have scanned a particular type of tree, keep scanning the other trees nearby as they may be a rare version.

Some scans can only be found in specific locations. Extreme Heat resistance will only be found on warmer planets (although you will almost definitely get this on the first planet, Aven). Extreme Cold resistance is only on cold planets. If the upgrade is listed under A Recommended Task it will give you information about where you can find the scan. While on your ship, select Missions and A Recommended Task will be listed. If you have several side missions, it will be pushed down so you have to scroll to see it.

You can check your scans in two places. If you are in your ship, go to Missions and cn_RB over to Scans. This will list your scans and also tell you what they can be used for - the blue ones are used for suit upgrades. The other place to see your scans is when docking at a space station - choose sell scans and they will be listed, again with their details.

I think you can only have 3 pages of scans. I'm not sure what happens if you keep scanning more than that. It is of no use to have more than 1 of each rare scan type, except for the Heat and Cold resistance where you want 2. So, if you have 5 Heat Resistance scans, you can sell 3 of them.

The next step is to collect resources. As you explore you will collect resources from resources crates, destructible items, crystals in the environment and from random traders. Early in the game they may seem rare but as you progress you will come across more and more. Space stations often have several resource crates so don't neglect them.

With scans and resources in hand, you now need to find a Conversion Chamber. This can be annoying as they appear at random on space stations and on some worlds, particularly in caves or villages. You will see them on the map as a pink circle.

Step into the pod for the suit upgrade menu to appear. Upgrades fall under three categories. The upgrades I needed and the resources they required are:

VISOR
Lifeform Detection
Lumite - 30
Ferrogen - 15
Long Distance Targetting
Xenite - 20
Brycol - 10
Augmented Clarity
Lumite - 40
Xenite - 20

ARMOR
Toxin Upgrades
Giocol - 40
Crylogen - 20
Damage Reduction
Fezium - 50
Xenite - 25
Heat Resistance
Quantium - 5
Ferrogen - 5
Extreme Heat Resistance
Quantium - 15
Giocol - 8
Cold Resistance
Fezium - 20
Crylogen - 10
Extreme Cold Resistance
Fezium - 30
Brycol - 15

BOOT
Velocity
Brycol - 40
Quantium - 20
Stealth
No resources required
Hover
Ferrogen - 20
Giocol - 10

I had a few more suit upgrade scans but the achievement popped without them.

You may reach a time when you have scans you need and the resources to craft them, but they will not show up in the Conversion chamber. This is the ‘glitch’ I though I’d encountered. But fear not, there is no glitch.

Remember the A Recommended Task mentioned above? If you have accepted several side missions, A Recommended Task will be pushed down and you will have to scroll down to see it. I was unable to upgrade several items on my suit, despite having everything I needed, until I completed this recommended task. For me it was to upgrade the ships lasers. Once I’d done that, all the other suit upgrades became available.

So, if you are having problems, make sure you have completed all the recommended tasks – some will not relate to suit upgrades but you have to finish them.

I hope this helps and enjoy your space exploration!

EDIT: For a discussion on the Stealth and Hover boots, look here if you are struggling to find them.
