You will earn your first talisman during Invasion mode. As you progress through the first set of invasion fights you will unlock the talisman.

You will unlock this achievement in Invasions mode, as that is where Talismans are unlocked and used. You will unlock your first Talisman after a few encounters in Invasions mode, when you complete the Demon Lady encounter. The game will then give you a tutorial on how to use the Talisman – you can shoot projectiles with the right stick 1RSLeft.gif and 1RSRight.gif. This achievement will unlock during that tutorial.
