How to unlock the THE CHOSEN ONE achievement in Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection - Definitive Guide

I just got this achievement and I think I know why people are not getting it. If you have the patch update that does make it work but the thing is you need to play all three games in one sitting. I know this as i got the one for ultimate mortal kombat 3 and mortal kombat on different days. Came to finish mortal kombat 2 and I got credit for beating the game but not chosen one. I then decided to beat all three games in one sitting and "bam" the achievement unlocked once I beat umk3 again as I saved that for last. So for those seeking to complete the game make sure you do it in one sitting. if someone already stated this I apologize for re-posting but i too had problems figuring out why i wasn't getting the achievements and whatnot. good luck :-)

For those having trouble with Mortal kombat 3 i recommend using Sindel and trying to get her scream move off its a great anti air immobilizes her enemies and you can combo off it. You have to get a flow with it to get the A.I. everytime but once you do your pretty much golden. For Shao Khan be VERY paitent ! Sonya is also good if you prefer to rushdown just watch her uppercut on Shao Khan it seems to miss at times you don't want it to.

Just posting to confirm this works, I did 2 when it first came out, and then just did 1 & 3, no cheevo, did 2 and pop got it.

Also I found Sub Zero's freezing and uppercut technique to be the best, even against Shao Khan, you can freeze him before he's even gotten up and uppercut, keep the pattern going and you can get flawless

are you sure you played them in one sitting? because apparently this DOES work either you didn't or the game just glitched which is kinda the case with this achievement. i know it worked for myself and a few others so maybe you just got unlucky.

Just attained this today 1/9/20 and can confirm I received it while being connected online and with all latest patches.

I played mk 1,2 and 3 all in a row in order and it popped after I beat shao Kahn on mk3.

Wasn't easy....took me 4 hours, mk2 is BS hard and mk3 is easy until shao Kahn.

I beat all three games over the course of two days while online and with the patches, but the achievement didn't unlock.

I ended up replaying MK and MK2 in one sitting, and it popped after beating Shao Khan. So glitchy.

FYI, only had to win each game once, over separate sessions. I made sure to exit the game properly etc. It is possible!

To extend on Globalizer, changing any setting in the game options (as in, the overall game, not the titles within) forces the game to "remember" what has been accomplished towards achievements like these; the SEGA Vintage Collections and Sonic and SEGA All-stars Racing are some examples off the top of my head

Just wanted to note that using the ejb menus does not work for getting the achievements for beating the games when viewing character endings or credits.

Did this achievement today and it unlocked no problem.
I beat mk1 around release year, umk3 a few weeks ago, and mk2 tonight and it popped.

I beat all three games in one sitting and the achievement did not unlock.

I completed MK1 on August 2, 2015
I completed MK2, and MK3 on December 23, 2015
Even though I have now beat all three games - I did not get the Chosen One achievement.
I figured I would have to "play all the games in one sitting" to unlock the achievement so I replayed (and completed) MK1 on December 23, 2015 - and the achievement still did not unlock.

Update: I replayed and beat MK3 and then MK2. Upon completing MK2, the Chose One achievement unlocked.

This achievement is self-explanatory except for that it appears to be glitched for some people (myself included). I didn't beat MK I, II, or III until after I had the december title update. Beating each of those granted me their respective achievements, but I did not unlock "The Chosen One."

I saw a piece of advice on x360a.org that recommended disconnecting from xbox live and playing the games again. I disconnected from Live, beat MK I again, and the achievement popped immediately after beating Shang Tsung. Hopefully this works for others.

Should I delete the title update when I go offline?

Yeah I was psyched that it unlocked after doing MK1 again because I had a pretty terrible time with MK2 and wasn't looking forward to doing that one again. It seems that the one you need to play again is variable. Not sure why that is....

disconnecting from live and beating MK1 is what popped it for me. I had beaten MK1 about 4 times, MK2 - 8 times, and MK3 - 3 times and it wouldn't unlock. Disconnected from the LIVE and the first time i beat MK1 the achievement popped, thanks a ton!!!

Did you guys DC from live while inside the game? I started up my xbox offline. Perhaps that was my mistake.

I disconnected in the middle of my Mortal Kombat run. The advice i read didn't specifically say to do it that way...just I was already in progress as I was reading about it so i pulled the plug. Not sure if that's important in getting the achievement or not

I ended up having to do MK1 & MK3 twice.

I had beaten both previously, then did MK2 & no ach. So after beating MK2 I went to MK1, beat it again, and no ach. So onto MK3 beat it again, and finally the ach popped.

If you do MK2, it might be worth doing the other 2 without quitting to the dash as this game is super glitchy.

I've noticed that the achievement doesnt glitch if you beat all 3 in one sitting...I beat 3 - 1 then 2 before exiting the game and it popped normally

I beat MK1 while offline and still no achievement. This is total bullshit! I wish all the people responsible for this a slow and painful death. When you fuck around with getting achievements that people worked hard for you deserve no mercy.

Finally got THE CHOSEN ONE Achievo (PHEW!) I did this over 3 days beating games in order (1, 2 & then 3) in different sittings.

It seemed that the game had not picked up that I had already completed MK2 already and it was that one that seems to be glicthy (for me anyway). Did not use the disconnect XBOXL menthod to achieve this, I deleted the update and re-downloaded and started MK2 again (as i already done MK1 3 times & MK3 once). Then it popped as soon as I defeated Shao Kahn.

Maybe doing all three games in one sitting is the way to go on this one, as mentioned in previous comments. Good Luck everyone wave

I completed all three games in one sitting and did not get the achievement. I complete MK2, then MK3, and then MK1. (I had previous completed MK1 - but replayed it when the Chose One achievement did not unlock after I completed MK3).

Even after completing all three games in one sitting - I am still without the achievement.

Update: The next day, I played and beat MK3, and then MK2. The Chosen One achievement popped right after I beat MK2.

This will unlock after you beat all three games so which ever game you beat last you will get it's silver and this gold. MK1 and UMK3 won't give you much trouble but be prepared for rage in MKII. Kintaro is as big a cheat as he was back then!

Good luck, you can do it.

A glitchy trophy, for about 4 out of 10 it does not open after completing all 3 Combats, on Western forums people are pouring such a raid on the game and on this achievement... The most interesting thing is that the trophy may not be released even after completing all 3 games again, depending on your luck. On the forums they write that you need to replay all 3 games until you get blue again and again, on different difficulties until it randomly pops up. Personally, it was enough for me to complete the 1st Kombat (the easiest) through the 2nd round and the achievement popped up, and I recommend it to you when replaying it again, because replaying the 3rd and even more so the 2nd at such difficulty is not cake at all.

After completing the third game, in my case MK II, I did not receive the achievement. And only after re-passing MK I and UMK III, they still gave it . Whether this is true or not, I will assume that to successfully obtain it you need to complete all three games in one sitting.
