Dropping Fools

Dropping Fools

Reach a 10 complete game win streak in Ranked 1v1 matches

10

0.38%

How to unlock the Dropping Fools achievement in Mortal Kombat X - Definitive Guide

THIS CAN BE DONE IN EITHER RANKED 1V1 MATCHES OR 3V3 TEAM BATTLES.
Check out the alternative solution below @GUTSY NINJA MJP created which requires 6 people.

For the 1v1 Ranked match solution:
1. Load game up
2. Online
3. Versus
4. Ranked Match

The win streak doesn't break when you either quit the game off the Xbox Home screen (that is guide button > start > quit) or pressing the off button.
(Make sure you do it quick enough to be safe). Managed to do it on 'Finish Him' a couple times.

Update: 26th April 2015
@Dogsoup mentioned this achievement unlocking for him doing team ranked battles, so it was able to verify them. Haven't tried this myself, maybe this helps out on the solution a bit?

Update: 18th May 2015
Personally I would recommend the off button method since some have reported the quitting method hasn't worked every time..(Maybe they're not doing it quick enough).

Apologise for supporting this solution in the way it can be achieved, but I'm just supporting @uhKillswitch 's point on this solution. Some people may prefer to do this legit whereas some will do whatever it takes. If you wanna save time....then yeah ^.
Please let me know if there's anything I can add.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to play online. Just says opponent found for about 20 min and finally throws me into a game only to get disconnected a few seconds later. It took me about 3 hours to play 2 matches the other day. No idea what the problem could be my nat is open and everything.

Yes the achievement listing will still display the % at what you were at but win once more you shall be reset back to 10% completed. Had a 5 win streak gpt destroyed and started another streak only to be at 30% afterwards.

Sorry if I wasn't more clear earlier on, what I mean is by quitting the game, I mean quitting the game on the dashboard not the game itself.
That is when you press the guide button > start > quit.
I did this ach for my friend earlier and got a 7 win streak with sub-zero then did the 'thing'.

After like 40 matches against teleporting scorpions, I finally got 5 wins last night and a few close matches they pulled out of their butt in the last moments. 3 to go! One of them was even half way afk. Or maybe he was looking at moves so he could hit me 3 times :p

I'm not sure why people are so butt hurt by this method ?? I can now attest to this working I got the achievement in about 2 hours of trying ( and I'm not good). The reason I don't get the hate/negatives is if you quit the other person gets the win your not depriving the Of the win. I know this since someone quit on me and it counted toward my streak .

You shouldn't be voted down but I completely get why it's happening. Nobody wants to deal with other people quitting. Then again, they get a win and all the EXP associated with it anyway so it only wastes the quitter's time. Good info here.

Just to add my two cents... it sucks if you have to quit but if your opponent gets the win and all the XP it is not that big of a deal.

And my method of dealing with these damn teleporting Scorpions is to use teleporting Ermac. Just be faster with teleporting. If they want to spam you spam harder.

I was playing for fun last night. Didn't know this achievement existed. I had a Faction Challenge to win 3 Ranked Matches. So I played legit. I lost the first four matches. Then I won my last three matches. I may do the quit to home screen secrets since I only need seven more in a row. Great guide. I know this hacks people off, but got to get those cheevos!

Can confirm this method still works and add that I was even quitting when I was paired up just to avoid certain match ups like:

1)terrible latency
2) a biz zillion wins and like no losses

At this point if you aren't committed to becoming extremely proficient online this is your best method. Thanks netherealm!

Then I tried the dashboard and close the game out got to 8 in a row and then got some bad games lost 3 in a row worked every time then won the last 3 in a row and the achievement popped

Matchmaking in this game is horrible. Seem to get stuck in an endless cycle of opponent searching. I managed to get this after a week and can honestly say the majority of the time is actually spent looking for opponents. Like almost every aspect of this game, the matchmaking is purely inferior to its predecessors. Thumbs up from me on this guide.

Really wish they'd stop adding achievements like this in fighting games since it only leads to a large group performing these kind of solutions (or playing incredibly cheap to win at all cost). Have no objection with the X amount of ranked wins, just remove the "consecutive" bit.

Seems if you use this method, you aren't awarded a loss, but the winner isn't given a win either

Thank God that some things can be exploited. I only had to do it about two or three times 'cause I'm actually pretty decent at this MK and didn't run into a lot of pros, but probably could've been more losses if my streak actually did get broken from those two or three matches.

Not able to edit my previous comment here. Turns out if you quit this way the person on the other end gets nothing, not even EXP. It's not the same as a "quitality," instead it actually seems to end the session completely.

Regardless, this method works perfectly fine otherwise. Quitting the game from the 'dashboard' at any point during the match or even during a fatality sequence will conserve your streak. Even though I do feel scummy for using this a few times now that it's done I'll stick to playing player matches where I can actually deny matches based on connection quality.

If you are trying to double box, the Opponent Found should show up for both players at the same time. If not, then it likely means you've found two different players. And only ONE of your accounts should get the "Joining Match" message. If both or neither get it after the opponent found, then you won't be matching up so be quick with the back button

If your struggling to get wins and would like to earn this without the anxiety that ranked battles give, you can also boost this in team battle 3v3. the method for doing this is as follows.

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOOSTING

6 players. (make a xbl party)
2 of the players searching while the rest of the party wait on the menu's.
once the 2 that are searching get put in the same lobby you want to go to the party and invite the players who are waiting on the menu. this is quicker than them searching so it reduces the chances of the slot being filled by a random player.

if you have all 6 players in the same lobby you and have decided which team will get 10 first you will have one player on the losing team quit the game (dashboard quit) during the 3rd match which in doing so will reset the wins on the lobby allowing 3 more matches to be played before it ends. so when the quitting player gets invited back in you can do the same thing again until the winning team all have 10.

as long as 1 player on the losing team quits during the 3rd match every time you will obtain this achievement in 1 lobby. however one player on the winning team will need extra wins so on his final match one of the other players on the losing team will quit to reset the lobby then its just rinse repeat for the other team.

P.S if this solution is bad please leave me a comment as to why you think so. I respect all feedback.

As we all know these "10 wins in a row" achievements are pretty awful. Unless you plan on becoming the best online in will not happen naturally. The other solutions work perfectly fine but I just got done boosting this with a friend so I wanted to give what we did so you know what to look for.

Solution: Boosting ranked matches with a friend.

What you will be doing is playing at some ridiculous hour so the fewest people (mainly Brazilians) will be playing. I did this at about 230am PST.

First you get both of you at the Versus > Player vs Player > ranked matches screen.

Then you both search at the same time.

What happens is generally (not all the time) if you search at the same time and there are not many people on it will match you and your friend up.

This is where it gets tricky. You have to communicate when the game says "opponent found" with your friend. If the game tells you "opponent found" but not your friend you are not matched up. Also your friend will get "opponent found" but you wont, thus you are not matched up. If that happens you will want to quickly hit the "b" button to back out of that search and search again. You will know you are matched up when you both say "opponent found" at the same time.

Now while doing this we sometimes had it both tell us opponent found at the same time and we waited and we were matched with different people. At that point play the match and see if you can win. If you can win fantastic one more done, if not quit to dashboard on the "finish him" screen and you will not receive a loss. I ended up having to do 3 legitimate matches and lost all 3, but I did the quit technique and kept my streak alive. When we did it for my friend we did 10 in a row without anyone interrupting us.

There is one other important note. The game tells you "you can not rematch in ranked matches." We found the best luck to get rematched is to exit all the way out of the game (quit to dashboard, press menu button, close application) after every match.
Some times we ended up resetting our MAC address if it took too long to match us up. I am not sure if any of that matters or helps, but we did it and we got the achievements.

Thanks mate, i recently did this method with 1 other.

I will say though, that the 'opponent found' text meant nothing for us. We backed out to ranked screen after each pairing, counted down to search at the same time, and one player (in this case) will always get the joining match text....so if the other player gets this text, back out as it means your being paired with someone else.

I think this may be pretty easy to get now. I just jumped online and ran off 10 wins picking random characters. Seems that at this point there aren't many good players on.

Here was my basic strategy...

1. I was mostly just jumping & uppercutting or combo jumping & hitting in mid air and then upper cutting because I don't know any of the real moves.

2. I made it a point to get that first hit in using the strategy above. The first hit gives you a nice boost towards the X-Ray move.

3. If I was able to pull off getting enough for the Xray move in first round I would try and pull it off. I never used it in the second unless I was sure I could get it in and it would finish the round. I was mostly saving the 2nd xray move until the 3rd round and trying to pull it off early to give a solid advantage.

Good luck.

After consistently getting my ass handed to me with infinite combos by people with 8000/100 records, because the matchmaking sucks, I tried something I found on another site.

After every ranked win, I'd upload my Player Settings file to the cloud (or USB). After every loss, I'd redownload the latest save. My ranked streak never got above the legit 3 I had before, but after 10 wins, and about 30 losses interspersed between them, it finally popped, so it appears the streak counter is in the local save file, not on their servers.

To upload/save your file, go to the dashboard and Settings->Application Saved Data Management->Saved Data in System Storage->Upload to Online Storage->Mortal Kombat X->Player Settings->Upload->Yes when prompted to overwrite.

To download/restore your file, go to the dashboard and Settings->Application Saved Data Management->Saved Data in Online Storage->Download to System Storage->Mortal Kombat X->Player Settings->Download->Yes when prompted to overwrite.

You can use either Online/Cloud storage or a local USB drive. Maybe I just have a bad USB drive, but it took about 5 minutes for USB saving, and 4 seconds for the cloud.

It may be time-consuming to get this achievement, but it's really not as difficult as it may seem.

First of all, get a friend and start a 1v1 ranked match roughly at the same time with them. I've done it with a friend who was in a nearby region, but we sometimes matched on "Same Region" and most of the time we matched on "Worldwide" so it can be pretty random. I also recommend playing at a time where there's less people. It worked best for us at about 7-8PM GMT. We still encountered a few people though.
Lastly and most importantly, if you pair with someone other than your friend make sure to Alt+F4. Do this as soon as you see their name pop up on screen and you should be fine. Even if you get the option to decline the challenge, close the game with Alt+F4 because if you run into them again, it'll usually start the match instantly anyway.

Other than that, it just takes some luck and patience! On one of the attempts you should choose Bo' Rai Cho and win without getting a 4-hit combo (so just do uppercuts or something) to get the "Lands-Down" achievement.

Hi folks, apparently closing the application before the end of the match or at least the fatality time won't affect the winning streak, i got my trophy by doing the method that I've mentioned. As long as you close the application before the fatality you're fine then. Happy hunting

Yes, this trophy has returned and will be a royal pain to get; almost impossible to get it the legit way.

One possible way to boost it is to search for a match at the very same time as your boosting partner. If you are lucky, you will land in the same session. Use a headset or live chat to coordinate your search for matches.

Luckily there is a trick to unlock this trophy, thank to BlackDevil990 for confirming the USB save trick still works for this one. With it, you would back up your save game on a USB device after every win, and if you lose, you load your save game back onto your console.

Here are the steps using the USB trick (Thanks to Hawks1523):

Step 1. Go to online -> Versus -> Ranked match

Step 2a. If you WIN, go back to main online menu. Press the PS button go to [Settings] -> [Application Saved Data Management] -> [Saved Data in System Storage] -> [Upload to Online storage] OR [Copy to USB Storage] -> [Mortal Kombat X] -> PLAYER SETTINGS -> Upload.

Step 2b. If you LOSE, go back to main online menu. Press the PS button go to [Settings] -> [Application Saved Data Management] -> [Saved Data in Online Storage] -> [Download to System Storage] -> [Mortal Kombat X] -> PLAYER SETTINGS -> [Download]. Yes to overwrite

Quitting a game in the character selection screen doesn’t work (counts as a loss for you).
0

Ranked matches are found under the 1v1 area of the Online menu. To unlock this achievement you must win 10 ranked fights in a row by whatever means you can. To do this legitimately will require some amount of skill and a lot of practice with your preferred fighter.

However, as of right now there is an exploit to make obtaining this achievement a little easier. This exploit requires you to dashboard then completely quit out of the game when your opponent gets to the 'Finish Him' screen, so essentially you have already lost, doing this will preserve your win streak and the loss will not be attributed to you. Please note though that using this method will also not credit your opponent with a win on their streak.

NOTE: If you do choose to employ this exploit you will still have to win 10 matches legitimately, all it does is preserve your streak.

0
0
Exiting the game, disconnecting the connection is counted as a defeat, the victory counter will be reset.

The exit of opponents does not give victory either. You may have to fight more than 10 times.

If you don’t feel well against living opponents (like me, for example), then do this:

1. We won, copied the save to a flash drive or to the cloud.

2. If you lose, then load the save file back.

3. If you win, then copy the save again.

We repeat until we get the trophy.

ATTENTION: make this trophy the last of all online trophies in the game! Loading/unloading game saves to PS+/USB clouds breaks the correct display of statistics.

Officially, as of November 27, 2021, “hocus pocus” works without problems with exiting the game and saving victory statistics. In general, it is not necessary to load/unload the game save to the PS+ or USB clouds every time! Just play in ranked matches and win as you can. The main rule is that if you lose in the first round or you come across a nerd, it is better to close the game immediately. Press and hold the PS button, the “Quick Menu” appears on the left side of the screen and select “Close Application”. We restart the game and try to win.
To be on the safe side, after every 3rd win, make a backup save of the game. You can only copy the Player Settings file. The remaining two files do not contain statistics.
There are a lot of newbies playing in ranked matches because the game was given away for free. Before each fight, look at the opponent’s card and evaluate your chances. I repeat, if you immediately lose one round, then it is better to close the game and not take risks.

As of 01/08/2017, the glitch with saves works. If you won, you saved the game to the cloud; if you lost, you left the game and transferred your saves from the cloud. In case of crashes or resets while choosing an enemy, I didn’t take any risks, I also copied saves from the cloud. The trophy dropped immediately after defeating 10 opponents.

Everything works with exits from the game.
If you run into the wrong person, then when choosing a character, minimize the game and close the application. Statistics are saved and the winning streak is not reset.

I recommend using this “bug” as a last resort, since after transferring saves, the game statistics break down and, accordingly, it is impossible to get trophies for full online battles...

Even if you copied the save and the statistics are glitched, after 200 battles the trophy will drop anyway, but the numbers will not change! Tested by me personally.

There is a method that does not require a flash drive or cloud save. This requires 6 people. So when you gather people for the trophy associated with 1000 respect points in the “King of the Hill” mode, do not forget to complete this trophy. To boost this trophy, we need the “Team Battle” mode (to get the trophy, you need to play in a rating battle of this mode). The essence of this mode is that 3 players of one team play against 3 players of the other team. Since no one plays this mode, connecting will not be difficult. To do this, first the first three players start searching for a game in this mode. And they should be thrown into one team. Then the second three players start the search. And they should be thrown to those three who are waiting for other players (that is, to the opposite team). You agree in advance who will leak fights to whom, there are only three of them. Accordingly, you will have to connect several times until the first three players receive a trophy. We perform the above actions similarly for the other three players. If for some reason you are thrown into different teams (let’s say two players are on one team, and the third is thrown into the opposite team), then talk to the party and remember who won before and only then throw the save onto a flash drive or into the cloud . However, such situations are rare, so everything should go smoothly. And saving, accordingly, will not be needed.
Also, do not forget to combine with this boost the receipt of two online trophies from the DLC: “Today there will be dancing in the club” (change your stance 10 times by pressing the L2 button with the character Bo Rai Cho during the time allotted for the fatality) and “Keep it simple” (you will win battle for Bo Rai Cho using an uppercut (down+triangle)).

As of 08/15/15, the trophy has not been fixed. Everything works as described in the first tip.
A few recommendations:
- If you lose a fight, don’t quit it. Wait until you are transferred to the battle selection screen and the game save icon disappears. Next, close the game and copy the save with victories to the flash drive system. (Or save it to a flash drive after winning and close the game).
- When you are searching for a partner and he refused the battle without entering the character selection, you will start searching for another player again, do not overload the save, the statistics will not be lost, he left and Neva.
- If a person leaves at the end of the battle, you will be considered a victory. I had this happen 2 times, and the last time was in the 10th battle and when the player left the trophy was given immediately without waiting for the end of the round splash screen.
- Don’t forget to also write to the players Please let me win fortrophy . Although not many, there are still those who succumb. Basically this is everyone who is not from Russia
- Statistics in the game will remain the same. Don't pay attention to this, victories still count.

I did it through two consoles, because... It’s almost impossible to knock it out any other way, there are a lot of Nerd Nerds even in ’24. You can borrow a console from a friend or rent it.
How to knock it out:
1. launched a search for rating battles on both consoles;
2. if the opponent of the main account got an account on the second console, then after selecting the fighters and the start of the battle, I left this battle with the second account. At the same time, the main account was awarded a victory in the form of QUITALITY.
3. if someone else turned out to be a rival to the main account, then I completely minimized the game and closed it. In this case, the defeat was not counted.
4. restarted the game and repeated the same thing until the trophy dropped.
Also, if it is possible to decline a battle when an opponent is offered (this does not always happen), then I rejected the battle. The defeat did not count.
And also, using the second console, I knocked out all the online trophies, including the one where you need to get 1000 respect points.

Getting the achievement is basically simple: go online-versus-player-versus-player - rating battle. We find an opponent and try to score him. in case of failure, when we see that we are already losing 100%, press the xbox guide on the gamepad (the large button in the center), then the “start” button on the game itself and “exit”. that is, we simply close the game - without resetting the counter in this way. The main thing is to have time to close the game in time (at the moment of fatality, you can have time to exit). and so we get 10 victories
