How to unlock the Wavenet... achievement in Mortal Kombat - Definitive Guide

I got this while doing king of the hill matches with a friend. at the time we were using the code 044-440 and grinding out respect points. also a good way to get your fatality achievements since you get a chance to do one every two hits.

Can this be a combination of Ranked and Player matches..?
Someone should confirm this.

Yeah, i'm at 150 online wins and still no achievement. And i've had at most 10-15 people quit on me overall. So something's fishy here... but i'll keep you updated ;)

Did you do this in private matches with your friend?

Yeah, seems to be glitchy, says I have 129 wins in player matches, but it's not popped.

Unless I had many more disconnect victories in KOTH than I had thought, the achievement is a little glitchy in how it counts victories. I had to reach 125 victories according to my user statistics for the achievement to unlock.

The general strategy to get this achievement is to win 100 online matches. It doesn't matter if it's Ranked, Player or KotH matches, wins on all of those modes count toward the achievement.

On a related note, any wins that you get by virtue of the opponent disconnecting or exiting the game before you can pull off your fatality (AKA rage-quitting) do not count towards the achievement. Be very persistent when you're going after Wavenet, as there will be quite a few rage-quitters online.

I can confirm that rage quitters don't count for the total. This unlocked for me around the 105-110th win. I was in a zone and didn't check the stats at the time, but I did check it when I hit 100 wins and no achievement popped..

Netherealms should implement a system where each Rage-quit counted as 10 losses (and subtracted 10 wins).

This should stop this nonesence.

I've learnt to try and avoid doing fatalities, just finish them off quickly otherwise chances are, they will rage quit.

131 wins before it popped. So many rage quitters in this game...x-ray and fatalities gives them plenty of time to drop out.

Not saying this is a definitive solution, but I was at 130 wins and 135 matches played while still going for KOTH respect. I decided to jump in to a Ranked Match to see if that would pop the 100 wins and 100 played achievements for me, and sure enough, after 1 win in ranked they both popped at the same time. My dummy did not get the 100 played in that same match, which it technically should have, and it wasn't until I replayed Ranked Match and won with my dummy that the Cyber Challenger achievement popped for that account.

Even with the unreliable online connection and inconsistent nature of this game, give that a try if you find yourself going over by a lot of matches. I can confirm that it worked for both of my accounts.

I got wavenet and Cyber challenger at the same time. My user stats at unlock:
wins 123
Losses 14
Best streak 78
Total games 140
Disconnects 1

My guess there is something else that is counting the wins on the stats but not for the achievement. I noticed that in koth if the player who isn't hosting Disconnects during the match it sometimes counts it as a win but not towards the achievements. I also noticed that the long freezes after a match ends don't count to the respect points sometimes. When I hit 1k points the achievement didn't unlock it even though I had 1k. I rebooted the game and I was at 990. This happened after one of the long freezes when the game continues afterwards. Just be prepared to not get it at 100 unless you get a perfect run with no long freezes or disconnects.

You must win 100 matches on Xbox Live. This must be done in one specific match type though - you can't mix between Ranked and Player matches.

You can find a boosting partner here.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

Boostable. Another trophy easily boostable in KOTH rooms. You will work on it while you gain respect points, so keep on that and you will gain some time killing 2 birds with the same stone. Also, you can do it the legit way playing Ranked matches just for fun and you will eventually unlock it but it will may take you more time doing this method.

See "Ultimate Respect!" for some tips about winning faster.

Like "Cyber Challenger," this requires you to win 100 completed online matches which would take you longer than expected due to rage quitters which will spoil your wins towards the trophy.

As a result, its easier to BOOST these in private versus matches with a friend. Refer to the Trophy Boosting Thread for boosting partners.

It’s just that 100 network 1 vs 1 won’t help, I scored about 120 myself, but didn’t get it right away. You will have to play all available modes (ranked - 1vs1, tag; player - 1vs1, tag at least), and win accordingly.

Can be done in Ad hoc (local mode), with a friend, another Vita and a copy of the game. You can do this even if you have the same account on both consoles. Verified.

10 wins in all modes are optional. I won about 70 victories in Ad hoc 1v1, the rest in online Ranked 1v1. I didn’t even participate in Tag.

I got the trophy only when the number of victories in one mode became greater than the total number of disconnects by 1. (Victories in players 109, total disconnects 108).

By the way, the Mortal Kombat servers for Vita will be turned off on May 31st.

Trophy is glitchy)

I got it myself when the number of rating victories became more than the number of disconnects by exactly 100, for example, 114 rating victories and 14 disconnects, then you get a trophy)

At the same time, there are a couple of victories in the other Versus modes
