How to unlock the Face Off achievement in Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition - Definitive Guide

Make sure you're locked on and bait him into doing his running jump attack by keeping your distance. When he starts running just strafe to the side (don't dodge). Once he's in the air (don't wait for him to land), hit him with a single quick attack (RB) and dodge away from him. Rinse and repeat. It's time consuming, but I only got hit once with this method.

Any known way to restart this fight without starting new game again? I'm so used to parrying
That i cant train myself not to parry him so I lose alot.

The way I beat him was wait for him to harden, then he'll do a thrust. After his thrust, do a running attack (press L stick down to "sprint" and RT). Harden immediately after landing the hit as he will attack right after you hit. You should have found 2 Mortal Tokens in the area just before him. If you take any damage, use them and then when he hits you when you are hardened, you'll regain some health.

Kite him around the area, after he attacks go up to him and start a light attack, harden, let him do is attack then whack him twice and dodge away. Rinse and repeat. When he hardens as well, wait till he finishes, whack him once and dodge away. Takes 5m. Kinda the winning formula to finish the whole game since your dodging i-frames are eternal. Haven't done the no shell run yet so not sure if it applies there as well.

This took me one try and I’m absolutely terrible at these games. Like I keep dying to the first few enemies I see. If I can do this than anyone can lmao

Is this missable? I failed to beat him when I started the game - as expected, but found no way to try again in current playthrough.

Just force the game to quit when you see the knight looking at the bell so when you restart the game it will be before you get the sword and you can try again. There's no auto save when you do that, the last one is before you get the sword.

Flawless strategy! Got it first try. Poor guy must have been getting frustrated, Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson never caused so many swings and misses in a row! 😎

Actually did get hit a few times but never from the jump attack.

I would suggest saving yourself the trouble to do this first time you encounter him and try instead on a new save when you have gotten a bit more familiar with the game. It only takes minimal time to get to him anyway. Should you fail you have to restart a new save however.

I found the easiest way to beat him was to wait for him to harden. When he is hardened, do a run/jump attack. Harden mid-air and wait for him to unharden and hit you. His attack fails but yours always connects. Just dodge all other attacks and you will be fine. It is an incredibly cheesy way to beat him but it works very well.

*MISSABLE*

You will only face Hadern in fresh playthroughs, so you can't cheese this in NG+ unfortunately, However, once you know the pattern of this boss he is extremely simple. Watch the video below for when to bait his attacks.
