How to unlock the It's A Me achievement in Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition - Definitive Guide

First off, you'll need to unlock the Recollection of Knowledge ability for your Shell at Sister Genessa which is easy to get not long after starting the game. Once you have the ability, a great place to get this is just above the first safe spot.
Go up the stairs and make your way around to the other side of the structure to a large bell with another staircase. Head on up and walk to the platform just past the merchant. Look down to your right and you'll see a heavy patrolling back and forth. As his patrol stops just below you, all you need to do is sprint forward off the edge to get enough distance and then harden as you fall. You should land directly on top of him earning you a satisfying splat and the achievement.
Mario would be proud. And maybe a little horrified.

So why is hardened plunge only working for me about 1 in 20 attempts? I've been practising by dropping off the ledge next to the merchant because the few times I've had the chance it hasn't worked. And I can't see any difference between when it works and when it doesn't. And it doesn't work most of the time.

The easiest place is near the first safe spot. Climb up the stairs and take the first opening on the left. Walk slightly to the right to see a bridge formed by a tree. There's a stump in the tree trunk directly positioned above the 2 brigands. Falling from here with the Recollection of Knowledge ability is the easiest way I found to snag the achievement as they don't move and the middle of the stump is perfectly positioned on top of them.
The, Pants, Party
Hardened Plunge is an ability that can be unlocked on any shell by purchasing the "Recollection of Knowledge" upgrade. Once you have this, if you press 
to harden as you are falling of a ledge, you will essentially do a ground pound attack and kill any normal enemy that happens to be below you. There are a large number of areas in the game to get this done, one such can be seen in the video below.
