To unlock the Axatana in the DLC you need to get an instinct with each weapon

Doesn't unlock for some reason. Everthing else has unlocked perfectly fine but this one, the easiest one of the entire DLC.

Could anybody lend a hand here? How can I perform the special move of both the axe and katana forms? When I try to press RB + LB it just changes from katana to ake and vice versa.

This achievement popped for me during my base game playthrough of story mode
Prior, I found all shells, all weapons, and turned in the final gland but declined to "enter the cave". When I returned to the anvil to check upgrades, I looked behind me and noticed Hadern sitting on the ground. I spoke with him and it concluded with "Glimpse one last time?" Yes to this option led to a fight against him with Axatana (phase one with double blade, phase two with single blade). Once defeated, I claimed his shell and was transported out. Speaking again, he told me to take the weapon next to him (Axatana). Equipped, it played tutorial on how to transform it LB + RB, and when I did, achievement unlocked.
Not sure why this worked in campaign as it is a DLC achievement. If anyone can confirm this method isn't just a one off, that'd be great. If it's any help, I hadn't gotten all etchings or unlocked the secret ending yet and managed to kill him in the prologue. And as far as I know, fighting him didn't change anything about the campaign for "glimpse one last time".
