How to unlock the Shine On achievement in Motionsports - Definitive Guide
Good news to anyone having trouble with the Target Shooting: there is a way to cheese it.
So normally how this works is that you place the ball, take the first shot, and then you have 75 seconds to hit as many of the targets as you can. That's not a lot of time, and combined with how high the diamond cutoff is, how awful the controls are and how small the targets are, it's a complete nightmare.
Well, let's get that pesky timer out of the way, shall we? All you have to do is quickly dart out of view of the kinect after every shot, enough so that it loses track of you and pauses the game. When you come back, it'll identify you (thankfully Motionsports is quick with this) and resume the game, BUT you'll get to place the ball again for the new target, and the timer will be stopped until you make the shot, giving you all the time in the world to set it up properly. Additionally, the moving targets will stay completely still until you shoot, so I advise you wait a bit before hopping off the screen for those, so they're in a good position for the shot. Preferably the middle of the screen for the horizontally moving ones and either top or bottom for the vertical ones.
As a final slap in the face to the game, it actually awards you bonus points at the end for how much time you have left on the clock when there are no more targets. If you're fast enough with the "pausing", this bonus can be quite sizable.
You'll still have to deal with the terrible controls and you do need to keep a streak for at least some of it, but overall this makes it a walk in the park compared to doing it legit. My final score was 1100, a whopping ~175 above diamond.

I just want to add to MrSod's guide that for the Penalty Shot challenge + all rewrite history challenges, you can save a lot of time and simply have a second player come in and allow you to score. If you cannot score perfect upper corner kicks (300 pts), simply keep the score tied until you can ensure yourself a 1000 pt score for Diamond.
Happy hunting :)

Is there a reason why this got a negative vote? This is what I did to get through these challenges within 15 minutes altogether

OK this one has 8 challenges, but luckily 5 are identical and once you learn how to do it, they don't have great challenge.
1. Penalty shot: Your goal is to hit the upper corner either right or left. If you do this you'll get 300 points per shot. You get 50 points per deflection (when you are the goalie) it doesn't matter if you win... So it is in your best interest to let a few get by you and get as many chances to kick as possible- the quicker you get your kick off the better chance you have of getting it by the defender. The last 4 challenges (change history) are identical to this; once I had this down I cruised to diamonds on all 5 of these challenges.
2. scoring challenge. Try to get as many '100' boxes as possible. This is fairly easy. it also gives you a big bonus if you end your scoring at '0', IE you have a score to start with and it counts down as you score points, so if you only have 50 points left and you manage to tag a '100', you'll see a significant penalty. This challenge was the easiest of them for me to learn.
3. Midfield Kick. This one is not that hard, the related achievement (hurricane) was much harder. You have 2 tries to kick a goal from midfield at each wind speed (total of 5). Just practice and watch where each shot goes. I kick with my right foot, and I found that my shots curved left, so I had to adjust for that. My main problem was getting the kinect to see how hard I was kicking it. I found once I relaxed and didn't try to ram it so hard that my kicks became much more likely to get in the net.
4. Target practice: this one is the hardest! All I can say for this one is practice, practice practice. You get 25 pts per goal and another 25 points per goal in a streak. So you need 900 to diamond- and you have 1:15 to do it in! Get into a rhythm and don't get mad, the camera won't see you if you don't move slightly back after the ball appears. A streak of 19 shots would give you 925 points... but I ended up missing here and there; I think I landed 22 shots (550) plus had a run of 16 in a row (375) giving me 925 points...
5-8: change history. These are penalty shoot outs, follow #1 above...

Don't overdo it. Kick just slightly left or right and don't kick above about knee height. Kick easy, not hard

i found it helpful to plant your non kicking foot and just rock the kicks back and forth on the target practice level and to try and kick sideways as often as possible made it more accurate for me
