How to unlock the Minor Clan achievement in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Definitive Guide

Good to combine this with the great grandparent achievement as you can die of old age with a tiny chance starting at 47 and a bit larger chance starting at 60. It's not uncommon to live past 75 though.

For the most amount of time, get married as soon as you hit clan tier 4, as that when noble women consider you an acceptable match. I married sora due to her high steward skill. So as soon as you hit T4, go to whoever you want, make a save incase you fail the speech checks, pass them, and give her father 5k gold. Now you're married, put a baby in her by going to a friendly town and select "wait here for some time". Unsure if the chances of conception is a bit higher if you wait at an owned fief with her as governor, but it seems to be equally good imo. Unsure exactly how much lower the conception chances while traveling on the map but it seems to be quite bad. Having beer and wine in your inventory while waiting also increases conception chances.

You must have 7 kids from the same character, they don't have to all be from the same wife. Still, I'd recommend putting the autosave on 10 minutes or so incase your wife dies in childbirth. Then just save scum it.

I would strongly advise not to do this while doing the dragon banner campaign quests for the empire or battania as you literally never have time to wait at a town with all the wars and conspiracy missions.

You could also send everyone out of your party running caravans if you are not a vassal or merc, then just wait for like 3 hours at a settlement (owned or unowned) in real time while watching Netflix, and manually unpausing time advancement when the game force pauses you. This way you are only consuming 2 food and the caravans are making money, and you will have 7 characters to help with whatever skill you want in the late game, or daughters to marry off to separate clans under your kingdom. I would advise not keep females in your clan and use them instead as stewards scouts and medica with maxed stats.

Edit: there is a perk in medicine that increases life expectancy, i believe it applies to the clan leader if a companion medic has it and is assigned to the party role.

Great granny unlocked by already having a grandson, having the first wife die, then marrying another woman and having a kid with her.

It did not unlock for being alive to see your grandson have a son

You don't have to wait long in a city to get a good chance at pregnancy and you can absolutely do it with both you and your wife always on the move with the main party. Even just resting in cities from time to time to replenish smithing stamina or later in your settlements to make use of the parade perk is more than enough. Travelling and even fighting while pregnant doesn't hurt your chances at all (unless you get her killed, of course, but otherwise no amount of hardship and injury will cause a miscarriage).

The major reason why you just don't get any more kids after the third is that the general likelyhood of a female character getting pregnant is lowered drastically after the second and even more after the third pregnancy, even if the woman is still quite young. The most reliable (albeit messed up) way to get 7 children is probably getting your wife killed after the third and marrying a new one. By the way, the easiest way to get her killed (assumung you have some points in roguery) is to use her as a party leader and have her get captured close to an enemy city, then "attempt" a prison break mission on her (works only with cities, not with castles). If the character you trie to break out "accidently" gets beaten down during the escape, they are 100% dead.

It seems to be about a 1/10 chance to have twins. If you want to speed this up then you can reload and hope you get twins. I’ve had twins on 2 occasions, once while resting in a settlement and while moving on the map.

I got this achievement at age 37, 1 year AFTER I conquered the whole map with my own kingdom. You most definitely do have time between wars and the banner quests to spend a few days here and there to try and get your wife pregnant. You can wait a week and then reload and wait a week again. She may get pregnant within a day or it might take awhile. Age plays a factor too (a very young wife gets pregnant almost immediately). Originally I thought there was downtime from having a baby and then getting pregnant again but a young wife can get pregnant almost right away. Others have said this but I do believe beer, wine, grapes, date fruit, and olives help the chances of betting pregnant. To be safe I also buy jewelry, fur, and velvet.

Make sure both of you have the “Virulent” perk in the Charm tree.

If your wife is getting a bit old (close to 40) she may not get pregnant again although I did see my brother’s wife get pregnant at 39. I tested out the chances of your wife dying in childbirth so you can marry a new one if need be. At full health it seems there is never a stillborn baby or death, so I wounded her with friendly fire in combat right before she was about to give birth. Out of about 30 reloads I still managed to get twins once, stillborn about 8 times, and death in childbirth only once, with a healthy baby at the same time. I’ve seen other characters on the map have a death and a stillborn simultaneously so that’s a waste.

Don’t worry too much about getting this achievement BEFORE doing anything else. You can still play the game and get pregnant here and there, and if your wife is getting old you can have her die and remarry to have the remainder of the kids. If you’re playing as a female character then yeah, get all the babies asap.

https://youtu.be/7YXbS_XRPZ0?t=140 I found this video which goes into the formulas a bit more than other guides I found. The major points, all of the restrictions only apply to the wife, not the husband. Age is a major factor, but the number of kids they give birth to is a big factor as well, and the chances of having a kid go significantly down after they have 3 even if they're pretty young. So it may be more efficient to try to get your wife killed and remarry after the 3rd kid instead. The video is from 8 months ago from the time of posting this comment so it is possible changes have been made to the formula since then, but the details mostly match my experiences in the game, so I believe it's still accurate.

Just want to add the virulent peek doesn't stack and actually negates the effect if both characters have it.

It was on a youtube video I saw done by StratGaming; the guy has thousands of hours in the game and has many detailed videos on all skills, as well as hundreds of hours of testing. It was on a video that was released a while back; a lot of things in the game don't work as intended. Albeit this was in earlier versions of the game. Hopefully they've been patched out.
