The first boss after acquiring the Bear transformation power is the giant toad boss in Arareko. You have to use the bear transformation to knock rotten fish into the frog's mouth when it is inhaling to spit at you. This causes the frog to fall down with its tongue out, which is the only part of the toad you can damage. I used the Bear transformation attack when the boss had 83 life left to kill it. It was the only time I used the attack on the boss so I am unsure how much damage it does. Remember that you need a full magic bar to use this attack.

Just a note: if you are like me and missed this on your first play through, you can still obtain it without starting a new file. Main bosses do not respawn, but if you travel to the end of the last level (Bakowala) where you jump into the flaming portal after fighting the walking mountain, all endgame mini bosses respawn. Killing the first scorpion mini boss using the bear attack will count towards this achievement. I only used bear attacks on it to be sure. I hit the scorpion with 4 or 5 bear attacks before it died. Achievement popped immediately.

In order to obtain the bear transformation, you will need to defeat the boss Wa'ruara Rusiwali at the end of the area Reso Rekobi. After you have defeated that boss you will acquire the ability to transform into a bear. In order to get this trophy you will need to get a boss to a sliver of health then get near the enemy and hold the 
button in order to transform into the bear which will slam your palms at the boss hopefully dealing the final blow and killing it. If the boss dies in this manner then you will unlock this trophy.

The best boss to get this is Ganoko (boss of Basacheéchi). Keep control of his life with your vision (
) and when it is around 35 you can use your Bear Attack (hold 
). This needs to be the last blow to the boss, the rest you can do as you please.
If you miss this during your playthrough, don't worry - it isn't missable. You can return to the end of the final level to fight the final minibosses over again, and defeating any of them with the Bear transformation counts for this achievement.
