To perform a finisher, you must build up enough energy for your special meter (small curved line in between your souls and magic meter) to become full. Hitting and killing enemies of all kinds builds this up.
Once this is full, there is usually an indicator in-game that says 'RT + Y Finisher'. This will create a short animation and begin the attack, which damages enemies within an area around your body. This means that you can place yourself within a fight with lots of enemies and kill multiple at the same time.

Just wanted to add this doesn't have to be on the same save - I didn't use it enough on my playthrough and was having a hard time figuring out where to grind it. Started on the 2nd save slot, and it popped on the first level during a combat circle.

There is a bar in between your health and your magic bar that is for your special attack. The special attacks are your finisher move. You will need to fill this gauge up by attacking enemies. Once the bar has been filled you will want to go near a bunch of enemies and press

in order to activate your finisher attack. It will look like a big whirlwind around Mulaka. Once you have killed 50 enemies with this, the trophy will pop. You can purchase Jiga ti for 260 Korimas in order to speed up your special attack charges.
