Each room has an objective at the beginning and one of those is "Feed the pit". At first I got this a little confused and was trying to push enemies into any pit trap.
The "pit" is a pit trap but with a distinctive red colour and souls swirling around. In some rooms this can be quite far from the beginning position so try to keep monsters alive until you locate the pit.
Once located use your shield
to bash the enemy in or tackle 
(hold down for stronger tackles) if you are further away.
As of 29/01/2020 - There has still been no patch so you NEED to do this when you first play the game and not turn off xbox or quit game. Otherwise progress will disable rendering this impossible to unlocking until patched.

Just bear in mind this is like the other achievements, you must do it in one go, not on first play only.
I know several people thought that it was first time as the tracker didn’t move again. But you have to get further than where it last was to see it move (8 first time, get 9 on second try and it will still move for instance).

Also, you can push dice or the other munchkins in to it. Also, it only counts for the exact amount the pit requires. It usually says 0/3 so it is gonna require finding this room at least 9 times without a game crash.
