How to unlock the Collector All achievement in MURDERED SOUL SUSPECT - Definitive Guide

There are a total of 242 collectibles required for this this achievement, placed on all the levels/areas. It should be noted that they CANNOT be attained after completing the main story, so make sure you get them out of the way as you play.

The collectibles are cumulative, so if you restart the game, you will only have to pick up whichever collectibles you've missed.

Feel free to find a full video guide with additional information HERE.

You can additionally find Digital Strategy maps HERE, but some collectibles are shown in the wrong spot, and the maps can be extremely vague.

You can use the following video to start the collectibles video guide:

Just a note for those having problems unlocking the individual collectible achievements. As noted in other solutions, some of them may be glitchy and not unlock even when your achievement counter says 100%. I had this issue with three of the achievements (Bell Killer, Cassandra, and one other) and I left my Xbox on over night. When I woke up in the morning, they had unlocked. May want to try that if you experience this glitch.

Great guide I missed one Witch Trail on my first playthrough so after completing whole game I started a new game and played to the museum level and obtained the Witch Trail I knew I was missing however even after completing the Misson my counter is still on 99‰ for the Collectors All achievement and 88‰ for The Witch Trails achievement. Can Anyone help?

If you do manage to miss a collectible or two in the Museum, you can still go back and get it. I was able to, even after completing that portion of the story in the museum. Have no idea why people say you can't.

@ Phoenix.....actually I think there is only one collectable that CAN be missed, and you can't get it post-game.....from what I remember from the 360- version, the one you get in the museum, while dodging the ghost train cannot be gotten later because the train moves, blocking the way to the collectable...............

Warboy is exactly right. Just the collectible blocked by the train, which would mean you would have to restart and do nearly half the story again.

Yeah, didn't have that problem on both versions (360 and One). Must be a player issue.

Just a friendly warning to all Ghost Story collectors. The game has a tendency to miscalculate their number, or sometimes they do not count towards the achievement. For example, if you collect all the saws in the temple, you may still not get the achievement. If this happens (it happened to me on at least 3 Ghost Stories), you will need to start a new game. The achievement will pop up as soon as you collect the first one (if you had them all before). Say you need ten, but you only collected 8 in the last playthrough, it will pop when you collect 2 more.

@BuryingMe - He's not counting clues. What you're not counting is the fact that the "8/8" for the Ghost Story collectibles is counting the completion of collecting ALL of the individual pieces for each story. For example, the Eternal Flame Ghost Story has 16 collectibles which means it has twice as many collectibles as the counter you're going by all by itself. I really hope you didn't down vote this because you didn't know how the game was counting collectibles.

The above 2 solutions are excellent; however one thing to point out would be taking care of all collectibles in the Museum before anything else. All collectibles can be obtained at any time during the entire game except at the very end, you have to go BACK to the Museum. It will warn you that entering the Museum at this point will lock out all of Salem (seeing as how this is the end of the game). At this point you can go back and collect everything; however if you did NOT collect all the Museum collectibles by this time - you will have to start the game over. The final Museum sequence is timed - and there is no way to grab any Museum collectibles. I strongly suggest doing all Museum collectibles as soon as you are able to avoid multiple playthroughs.

Collect All Artifacts

I was going to upload screenshots of the Digital Strategy Map but someone over at Xboxachievements.com has beat me to the punch. So all credit goes to xxJustinxx who posted it there.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57847...

I also wanted say that not all of the collectables are not in the place they are shown so I will point out those I noticed.

Baptism Ghost Graffiti - It is shown in the Church map but it is located in the Mental Hospital when looking for Iris. Its in the laundry room near Iris's room above some washers.

Pillary Ghost Graffiti - It is not on any map but it is to left when leaving the Mental Hosipital. It is located in the area after the Theater. You turn left and its near the windows.

Buring Ghost Graffiti - It is shown on the map near 'In Her Hands' and Katy Side mission but it is actually across the field to left when looking at 'In Her Hands'. It is near a picnic bench on the wall.

EDIT: As other gamers have stated you can pick up collectables you have missed on multiple playthroughs.

EDIT 2: Some achievements are not popping when going for all collectables.

If any question or reason for negative feedback please comment to make the solution better.

The ghost graffiti are drawings on the walls by the little ghost girl. Some of them are extremely difficult to see unless you're right up on them.

Yes the glowing things show you one is near. They get bigger and you can see them flicker when they are on the wall. You have to reveal (RT) to see them

I had 2 codex left to finish all collectibles. Both in the museum, my next place to go in the game.
But it triggered the ending and i couldn't get around it. I heard you can start a new game and just grab those missing pieces...well it didnt work.
I hit "new game" and the question was incredibly confusing. Either answer could have been wrong with their wording.
"Do you want to overwrite the save"?
I searched google for 30 mins and couldn't find a proper answer about this new game.
I hit no. It seemed like yes meant to overwrite and completely erase my first game.
Im now registered and will never do such a thing without asking.

To clarify, clicking no, resets your game to brand new, and grabbing last cpl codex doesnt give you the achievements.

Its truly a great great great game gone terribly wrong because of no map, minimap, waypoints, multi save points or the ability to just wander after game over to collect trophies like hundreds of other games. But I still recommend it. Its a great investigative, dark, supernatural thriller. Pretty good gameplay, GFX, dialogue, and story.

Here are all locations of all the collectables, but please be aware that the Museum is a one time only visit so be sure not to miss anything there and do not progress in to the Judgement house until you have got all collectables bar 24, as you can't go back to Salem after accepting this mission. The game does warn you of this though.

While exploring through the game you will come across various collectibles; Gas Containers, Bone Saws, Guns, etc. You will need to collect a specific allotment of each one in order to obtain their corresponding achievements, as well as obtain all of them in order to get this achievement. Many of these collectibles can be found easily, through natural progression, while some are a little more obscure. Do not leave an area until you've discovered all collectibles, as some are missable. Follow the video guides in Rex, Baxter, Ronan, The Bell Killer, Julia and Cassandra's Story achievements, as well as the Codex, Eternal Flame, Salem's History, A Watery Grave The Bell Tower Banshee, The Heirloom, The Stalwart Specter, Man in the Box, Terror on the Tracks and Ashes to Ashes achievements in order to save yourself time and effort. As well, investigation clues do not count as collectibles.

*MISSABLE*

Note: The Digital Strategy Maps that were given out if you pre-ordered the game are inaccurate. They often list collectibles in the wrong location and sometimes don’t list them at all. For your own sake, do not follow those maps.

This game has 242 items to collect throughout 8 locations with a total of 25 achievements for 445gs.png related to the collectibles. They give backstories to the locations and characters who lived in the area in another time.

  • Apartments: 14 collectibles
  • Church: 20 collectibles
  • Salem Police Department (Police Station): 37 collectibles
  • Ashland Hills Cemetery: 28 collectibles
  • Lux Aeterna Psychiatric Hospital: 25 collectibles
  • Salem History Museum: 31 collectibles
  • Church (Upstairs): 2 collectibles
  • Town of Salem: 61 collectibles
  • Judgment House: 24 collectibles

Most of the collectibles in the game give off a yellow glow, so they aren’t too difficult to locate. You only need to walk up to it and press button-x.png to collect it. For others, you only see fragment and must use Reveal (press rt.png) to see it completely then collect it (press button-x.png). Then there are 23 Ghost Girl’s Messages which are writings on walls that shimmer lightly are only completely visible when you use Reveal.

The game saves your collectible progress immediately so you don’t have to worry about dying, restarting a checkpoint or your power going out. To check your progress, press button-page.png.

It would be wise to collect everything in the location you are playing before solving the case and moving on to the next one to eliminate backtracking and extra play time. This is particularly true of the Museum as the area is locked off completely once you enter Judgment House, so make sure you get everything in the Museum before leaving. Since you return to the Salem streets when you complete Judgment House, you can enter all other locations except for the Museum. You will NOT be able to go back to the Museum and will have to start a new game if you miss any.

Before you enter Judgment House, your stats should read:

  • 14/14 of Ghost Abilities
  • 7/7 of My Life
  • 35/39 of Info About My Killer
  • 34/38 of Julia's Thoughts
  • 2/2 of Rex's Thoughts
  • 2/2 of Truth About Baxter
  • 5/6 of Profiler's Memories
  • 23/23 of Ghost Girl's Messages
  • 7/8 of Ghost Stories
    • 7/7 of “A Watery Grave” (Apartments)
    • 11/11 of “The Bell Tower Banshee” (Church)
    • 8/8 of “The Stalwart Spectre” (Police Station)
    • 13/13 of “The Heirloom” (Cemetery)
    • 10/10 of “Man In The Box” (Hospital)
    • 15/15 of “Terror on the Tracks” (Museum)
    • 16/16 of “Eternal Flame” (Salem)
    • 0/0 of “Ashes to Ashes” (Judgment House)
  • 22/25 of Salem's History
  • 8/9 of Witch Trials History

Note: While the tracking of collectibles is reset if you start a new game, the save file still keeps your progress of what collectibles you’ve obtained and your achievements are still tracked. So, if you missed any, start a new game and progress to where the collectibles are, collect them, and if you’ve met the requirements, the achievement should unlock. But, you must have knowledge of which collectible you missed the first time; collecting any collectible in that set will not unlock the achievement. It may be difficult to remember which collectible you missed which is why it is recommended that you collect everything in a location before moving on.

Refer to Maka’s Collectible Guide thread for video guides showing the locations of all the collectibles.

A bit of a 2023 Xbox Series X update, it appears that the quick resume feature is effecting some glitchy achievements causing them not to unlock. If this happens to you don't worry, it happened to me on my playthrough. Just start a new playthrough and grab a singular collectible from the set you're missing, this will cause it to instant unlock.

This happen to me on this achievement, Ashes to Ashes and terror on the track. Grabbing one random collectible caused this achievement to pop. AtA and ToTT unlocked when I grabbed one of their mission specific collectibles.

If you didn’t collect everything in one playthrough, then during the second playthrough you will only need to take what you didn’t collect the first time. It is not shown in statistics, but it is true. Checked!

After the “House of Justice” location, before you go to the “Museum” for the second time in the story, you need to make sure that all the artifacts have been collected. By this point, you should already have all the trophies for collecting.
If not, then under no circumstances should you go to the “Museum” . There will be no opportunity to collect more!
After completing the game, there will be an option to continue in the menu, but there is no exit from the “Museum” location!

It doesn’t count, I knew for sure that I didn’t take it on the first playthrough, I took it on the second, but they didn’t give me the achievement. I collected everything again.

Passed in January 2019, additional collection of items is working. When starting a new game, I chose “yes” when asked about resaving and completed the two missing pictures.

Perhaps they fixed it with a patch, for January 2019 if at least one artifact was missed - only a full collection on the new game. Don’t try to “finish off” anything, you’ll only waste time, I tried both with and without overwriting saves.

Only complete collection of items wins a prize, I missed the drawing on the first playthrough, collected all the drawings on the second playthrough, did not receive the achievement

Game version 1.0
May 2020
During the first playthrough, I missed the drawing and the book at the “museum” location; after reading the clues here, I began to collect everything in the second playthrough, and not follow just the two of them. Having reached the “museum” location again, I collected the drawing and the book (which I did not take during the first playthrough), and the achievements fell out!!!

During the second playthrough, there was only one painting left to collect, when during the first playthrough, absolutely EVERYTHING was collected. The trophy for collecting all artifacts did not drop. Keep in mind.

May 2020 - in the second playthrough, I completely collected 2 collections: messages from a ghost and artifacts of the witch hunt, missed in the 1st playthrough ( 2 artifacts were missed in the museum ) - trophies of the same name dropped out, but the trophy of the full collection, of course, didn’t drop out, I’ll have to go through it 3 times and collect EVERYTHING again.
It was unfairly fixed, before everything was rolled out with additional collection...

I confirm that if you missed something due to inattention, then during the second playthrough it is enough to collect only the missing items. ( when replaying, you will need to agree to the transfer of saving items and in the future do not pay attention to their statistics, they are reset, but in fact, all collected items are saved )
On my first playthrough, I missed one medium's book and one wall drawing, both in the "Museum" location. I started a repeat playthrough, quickly ran to this location and took these two items - two achievements immediately fell out.

So, be extremely careful when leaving this or that location, so as not to return to it again, especially for the “Museum” location - this is the only location to which you will not be able to return after leaving it!

Artifacts can be collected before the last chapter (there will be a warning), except for artifacts in the museum (you must collect all on your first visit). If you missed something during the first playthrough, then during the second playthrough you don’t need to collect everything again, the artifact counter does not reset to zero.

You need to collect everything in 1 playthrough. I didn’t overhear the conversation of the 2 policemen and didn’t find out Baxter’s story, and at the end of the game it was no longer possible to do this, only because of this I had to start the game over again and everything that was collected was reset to zero.

In the second playthrough, the collected artifacts are not reset, but simply do not appear in the list. Therefore, you will still have to collect them all, because you will never know which ones have been collected.

There is one more place in the game where you will not return - the Attic of the church, collect artifacts there on your first visit.

Everything that is on the “additional evidence” tab is considered artifacts. There are 173 items in total. These are Julia’s thoughts, information about Zvonar and other characters in the game. Also includes items needed to unlock ghost stories.

POINT OF NO RETURN - before entering the judge's house, after which you will not be able to collect all the evidence in the MUSEUM.

I advise you to collect artifacts on your first playthrough (in the Museum, collect everything on your first visit), before the second visit to the Museum (final scene) there will be a warning that you will not be able to go back. We don’t rush and don’t go into the Museum a second time, but collect artifacts (in the city and other locations) that you don’t have. I started a new game in the hope of collecting the remaining artifacts, I had 20 left, I thought the additional evidence collected would be saved in the new game, but no, all the artifacts were reset, I had to collect everything again.

Links to videos on collecting everything in the order of visiting the locations (in parentheses the number of “things” in the location and the total):

Apartments (14 / 14) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Shex1F34lO8

Church (20 / 34) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jX3I0fDihUQ

Police station (37 / 71) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I_7KtpfloY

Cemetery (28 / 99) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye0YEXd8laM

Hospital (25 / 124) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXAO0dmpr34

Museum (31 / 155) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYGK9gpKVOw

Church - one more time (2 / 157) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDHxUvXC3lk

City (61 / 218) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHXmeIwxV3g

House of Justice (24 / 242) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geT1GMU7BTc

Don’t let the total number of 242 instead of 173 confuse you, there is no confusion here - you need to collect everything, but you can’t do it in a single playthrough.
