How to unlock the Exterminator achievement in Mutant Football League - Definitive Guide

The way I got this achievement was by taking advantage of the dirty plays. Using a few of those, I was able to consistently get between 20-30 kills per game. Most of the games would end because the opposing team would run out of linemen or quarterbacks. I believe this to be the most efficient way to reach the 1000 kills. It is important to note that I used the Hatriots during the entire game, and I only know what their dirty tricks are, but I noticed some of the teams had different ones. The following guide is what I used after getting the rest of the achievements in the game. So this is solely based on getting the achievement, and not winning any of the games.

On offense:

Use the beast mode dirty trick and just stand near the linemen and spam the cn_A button. This will cause your player to spin and knock down anyone near you. When the opposing team's players fall on the ground, continue to hit cn_A and it will keep damaging them until it kills them. The beast mode lasts for a quite a while, but even after it is gone, you can still knock the opposing team down if they are being blocked by your teammates. I was able to consistently kill the entire team using this method. Now run out of bounds.

On the second play, use the dirty trick with the shotgun. You will have seven shots to shoot using cn_B. I would just stay where the ball was snapped and shoot 7 times. This would get me 3-5 kills each time. Now punt the ball to the opposing team. About 90% of the time, I would kill the returner as well with late hits.

On defense:

Use the dirty play for the quarterback sack. You can run offsides before the ball is snapped and tackle the QB, which automatically kills him.

On the next play, use the Ginormous dirty play. This makes your player huge. Most of the time I used this, the opposing team would fumble the ball and I would recover it as a huge guy that was super hard to tackle. Just like the beast mode trick, just use cn_A on the opposing team. Using this method, I was able to kill the entire team most of the time too. If the opposing team does not fumble the ball, hit the ball carrier with a late hit, and it should kill him immediately due to your large size.

Tips for the rest of the game:

After you have used all of the above dirty tricks, just try to sack and kill the quarterback and/or the running backs if they decide to run the ball. Make sure you leave one quarterback so the game will go to the second half. When the second half starts, you can reuse all of your dirty tricks. Just repeat the above steps if possible. Most of the time, I would end up ending the game by killing all of the linemen or the quarterback. Using this method, you are guaranteed upwards of 20 kills per game. I had my game on 2 minute quarters for this, so each game was taking around 5 minutes. It is a little bit of a grind, but I enjoyed it.

Just an update for those still working on this achievement, but you can track your progress (I found this out after I unlocked it). If you open the Xbox Game Hub for the game, then scroll over to Progress, then Scroll down to Stats it displays PlayersKilled under Time Played. HALFTIME KILLS DO NOT COUNT.

The game updates may have changed this. Kills from some Dirty Tricks do not add to your team kills count (just like field hazards) and are therefore unlikely to count. Unfortunately, this includes many of the "easy" ones, like Hot Potato and Thunderclap (the one that calls down lightning, not the one that electrifies your player), as well as the very useful QB Sack Attack. These kills do help for getting through the roster for a forfeit, but not for this achievement.

It seems that these do count:
Offense:
Shotgun
Chainsaw Massacre
Flame On
Roid Rage
Beast Boost
Fart (if you get kills here, amazing work)

Defense:
Ginormous
Zap Attack
Berserk
Sticky Ball

Given this, the general advice of the achievement solution is correct, but the best cheap tricks are probably Beastmode + Shotgun/Chainsaw Massacre and then Berserk/Sticky Ball, but your mileage may vary depending on play style, skill, luck and other factors--including if more updates come.

You get to use each Dirty Trick once per HALF so you can use each of them twice per game, if you don't win the game in the first half by forfeit.

Nice guide. I see no reason you wouldn't keep resurrections on though, the kills still count and the games won't end due to forfeit. Unless you really wanted to play shorter games to get the dirty tricks back. But you could usually jump offsides every play and get a kill on the QB most times anyway.

For your sanity, I recommend doing 150-200 kills a day for an hour or two and just cdo it for a week whilst playing other games. MFL is really fun but this gets mundane really, really fast. Good method though. I'm at about 500, hope to get this Thursday or Friday!

Unlocked this just now. This unlocked early for me, which leads me to believe that
a) half time mini game kills count
b) even if it doesn't add to your stats sheet kills on penalty plays still count

Either way thanks for the solution.

Yes, to the above comment, kills performed on penalties still count as do any rushing/passing/receiving yards. I was able to get 180yards in two plays due to a penalty and doing the play over again. Also, if you’re only going for the 1000 kills, turn resurrections on so that you can continue to murder people in one game. The game loads plenty fast so you don’t lose a ton of time but at the same time, longer quarters and resurrections on will net you way more kills per game, especially if you already have the seasons done.

Where can I check to see my total kill count? I haven't been able to find it in the game and it isn't tracking. Thanks in advance!

There is no counter and the achievement doesn’t track. Wonderful I know.

Sorry to add on again but the half-time kills did not count for me when I tried it out. Had 1017 before, got 35 kills during half-time, and still had 1017 afterwards. Killed someone on the first play after half-time and that counted giving me 1018 so there doesn't seem to be any kind of delay.

I was able to kill 25-32 people a game by abusing the stiff arm and playing the Terminators. You can knock the players on the ground with stiff arm then press either A or B over them to do even more damage. This also works really well with the Dirty Tricks. I was killing the entire team on the field almost every time. Got my last 500 kills really quickly this way. I can go into more detail if anyone needs it.

Thanks to the guy (or gal) that found the tracker in the games hub!! I thought I was way closer than I was (750), but playing on newbie or whatever you can stuff arm and kill the other team without any special power ups. Tokyo and the locked team (something Orcs the locker team) seem to be the easiest team to kill quickly. Unlock them by using Tokyo in a mayhem bowl (from menu, not after a season and you unlock them after you win the bowl. Took a few hours but avaerage 20+ kills a game with the Hatriots. Thanks again!!

Also wanted to add that I was using bombs on the field to blow up the other team and this also does NOT go towards your kills so don’t bother.

Just a tip, know what type of returner you’re going against. I could always kill the returner after I scored but some teams like the Orcs have a bigger returner that I could not kill. I kicked short to them and then I could switch to a big guy who would then always get a kill for me.

All I did was use two controllers and let the extra controller do the kick off but don’t actually have hem kick off. Have a defender on your main controller kill the kicker, rinse and repeat for a while for easy kills. I just turned resurrections off so that eventually they run out of players and forfeit, I normally do 2-3 games like this a night to save my sanity and I’m up to almost 600.

Nasty, how do you turn off offsides? Even on the kickoff I can’t cross the blue line

J every You still take a penalty for offsides but since my solution said use two controllers you just decline the penalty on controller two.

I think they might have updated it to where you can't run past the line of scrimmage. Unless I'm missing something I can't run past the line when playing single or with two controllers.

I also cannot run past the line of scrimmage.

And I don't have those dirty tricks at the Hatriots, which makes me wonder if it matters if I play an exhibition or if it has to be in dynasty?

Just to add, upgrade your offensive line meme brawl and fatigue during seasons. This, combined with beast mode/chainsaw massacre can easily wipe out the entire defense twice.

The best way is to play seasons, the leaderboards track your kills there. Then you just have to do *shudder* math to add your offensive and defensive kills.

Just an update for those still working on this achievement, but you can track your progress (I found this out after I unlocked it). If you open the Xbox Game Hub for the game, then scroll over to Progress, then Scroll down to Stats it displays PlayersKilled under Time Played. Knowing this, you should be able to figure out definitively if half-time kills count/don't.

Not really much to this one, just keep grinding away and you'll get there. For teams use San Fransicko if you have them. Make liberal use of the Murder Ball and Berserk dirty tricks and you can kill a lot of guys in both halves. This works best in tandem with the Dynasty achievements so build up a ton of heavy hitting guys and you can lay waste to 15-20 guys a game. It will take a while, but that's how I got it! Hope it helps!

The key to LOTS of kills, and not just guaranteed kills, is an overpowered ball carrier. If done properly you can get a half to full wipe 4 times per half resulting in 30-40 kills per successful game.

Start a new dynasty with the following settings:
Team - Any (I went with full metal mayhem due to having beast mode already)
Game Speed - Fast
Difficulty - Newbie
Time - 1 minute (you can go longer if you like, but I preferred to minimize game time without dirty plays - 2 minutes might be ideal)

Sign TOP Free Agents/Trade for the following positions and place in depth chart:
RB x1
Guards x3
Blitzers x2
RB x1

Post game place all points into the following attributes:
RB - Toughness, Break Tackle
Guard - Brawl, Toughness, Hitting Power
RB/Guard - Increase to 100 overall
Any - Toughness, Brawl, Hitting Power

Play Selection:
Offense - Beast Mode/Chainsaw Massacre
Stay around the line of scrimmage hitting A in to get kills stacked up. Once there are only a few left target them individually. DO NOT score a touchdown if you have not run both dirty plays. Waste time as necessary.
Defense - Berserk/Ginormous
Target to get a turnover, either by fumble or interception. If you get one while still overpowered follow the runner guide from offense.

Aim to win games, but while not sacrificing kills. Lack of winning could lead to not enough cash which will prevent buying the required dirty plays each game.

Note: Attribute points are assigned/bought under management > roster. Dirty plays are bought/assigned under management>playbooks>dirty plays and must be done each game.
