How to unlock the Black Belt Grandmaster achievement in Mutant Storm Reloaded - Definitive Guide

I don't really have a solution as such, since the only way to achieve this is to practise over and over again. The method I suggest is to master each level individually on tally mode on black belt - I practised this way until I had over 20,000,000 total tally score. Next, play adventure mode in sections of 10 levels, concentrating on whichever start-point you find the hardest. If you can't make the full ten in a row, finish off the last few on tally mode. It is better to learn the levels sequentially, so when playing for real you know what is coming next. When you can successfully make it from every start point to the next checkpoint on black belt, it's time to go for the whole 89 levels!

Some pointers:

Although each level should have it's own unique strategy, the technique of circling works pretty well. Quickly alternate between shooting in the direction of the enemies and shooting in the direction that you are travelling - this is key in defeating the enemies such as the ones you find on levels 82 & 89. For the laser levels (particularly 74 and 81) be warned that the laser patterns may change during your BBGM run - I think this may be because the game speeds up as you progress.

For levels with electric eel like balls (like the ones on 15) do not always rush to shoot them. Sometimes it is easier to let them live and just avoid them until the end. The seeker powerup really helps against this type of enemy.

Unless you are attacking the electric eel balls I would recommend avoiding the seeker powerup, since the seeker shots often do not target the enemies you want to shoot.

I found the laser powerup particularly useful against turrets (and attached fuel tanks).

Shields are probably the best powerup to get - they really save lives! However, diving into a dangerzone just to get a shield usually ends up with a life being lost instead. Also, you can pop those pacifistic balls which don't move or shoot, killing them instantly, just by having a shield (useful for levels 29 and 48).

Spinners do not make you invulnerable - remember they are a defensive powerup, so should NOT generally be used as an offensive weapon!

I wouldn't rely on Crimsonsation's videos. They are really good, and for some levels there are helpful techniques, however there are definitely safer ways of doing some of the levels - I guess whatever works for you. For example on level 52, just head to the diagonally opposite corner from where you start off. You're pretty safe here right until the end of the level. It would be better if there were videos of each level on black belt tally, but I guess they are the best we have - I know that they certainly helped me.

Finally, you get a whole load of bombs throughout the game (up to 44 I think), so make sure that you use them!

I know that barely anyone plays this game anymore, but I hope that this helps even one person.

Good luck!

This has to be done in a single sitting.

I'm not sure I'll ever get this myself, but here are some videos I found of crimsonsation (you'll see his name over on the right in the "First Winners" section) showing everyone how it should be done.

Unfortunately the videos are quite old and don't have any sound, but given that so few people are able to do this we'll just have to make do for now! :)
