How to unlock the Anti-Mechanic achievement in Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden - Definitive Guide

You’re likely to get this early in the game. If you don’t get it before you get access to the Metal Fields, you’ll definitely get it while clearing it out.

The game has several kinds of robots, I’m unsure if the “non-man” shaped ones count, but there’s many, many of “mechanical men” anyway so you shouldn’t have a problem.

These enemies can be turn the tide of a winning battle into a losing battle so here’s some tips.

Med-bots: these enemies don’t attack, but they do revive enemies and that can get you killed. If you can dispose of them quietly before a big fight you should do so. Dux (and later Farrow) has a mutation called Circuit Breaker, which will allow an EMP like effect (lasts a shorter time than an EMP grenade but usually sufficient). Use elevation or Dux’s Moth Wings mutation to gain get your hit percentage with Circuit Breaker. Note, employing Moth Wings does not spend an action point so you can walk closer to the enemy to gain 100% to hit, use Moth Wings, and Circuit Breaker in the air. If all else fails throw an EMP grenade. If a Med Bot starts to heal someone, unlike a Med Pack, they must kneel by the downed enemy for a turn. The easiest thing to do is to interrupt them, a Knock Back effect is the easiest if you can’t simply kill them before it happens. The Gaper is a gun you loot before you even arrive at the Ark the first time, it has 100% knock back, use it. Hog Rush will also work, as will using Corpse Eater (Bormin and Farrow) on whoever they’re healing (note you can definitely Corpse Eater a downed teammate, there’s even an achievement for it, if playing on Iron Mutant be very careful of who you’re going to eat if you have a downed teammate).

Polis Bots: the basic versions of these enemies have just one armor point (make sure to account for it if you’re taking them out silently), but otherwise aren’t much different from a Maurauder Ghoul.

Polis Bot Enforcers: these guys can really suck, try not to engage more than two at a time. They have 2 armor so taking them down silently may be hard early game. It’s normally best to sneak past or at least eliminate the other enemies in the area first. They have Frog Legs so can move very far, change elevation, and easily make your cover irrelevant. They also have an electric attack, it’s a beam of electricity from them to your character and stuns the character until the beam is removed doing one point of damage per turn (armor won’t help unless it’s electric immune armor). Knock backs do not help here. Circuit Breaker, EMP grenades, stuns (like Hog Rush), and death of the character or the bot is the only solutions.

Anyway, once you’ve disposed of 10 of any combination of these enemies, this achievement will pop.

Your bound to get this in the metal field zone. There is more than 10 Police robots in this area alone, add that to the few medic and police robots you killed before you reached this area and you will have well over 10 robot kills before moving on.

Get it towards the end of the game if you kill all the robots along the way.
