How to unlock the Weapon smith achievement in Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden - Definitive Guide

Level 2 upgrades cost 30 weapon parts each, whereas level 3 upgrades cost 60 weapon parts each. So you will need 90 for each weapon, totaling 450.

By the end of the game you will have more than that if you explore each area decently.
Also, don't be afraid to visit areas with red skull (enemies much stronger than you). You almost always can find scrap and weapon parts without entering fights. That could ultimately help you to upgrade weapons earlier, making progress easier.

EDIT: According to TechStorm2012 you can quickly get this achievement when you have enough to upgrade a single weapon to level 3. You just have to save before upgrading one weapon. Then just reload and upgrade a different weapon and it will count towards the achievement. Reload a final time, upgrade a third different weapone and the achievement will pop.
I don't think this method is necessary as by the end of the game you will have more than enough to upgrade also a fourth or fifth weapon but it can help nevertheless.

has to be different weapons but the save scum idea works. I tried upgrading the same weapon and got nothin but upgrade a different weapon and it went up another 20%. Proceeded to complete this on iron man + hard mode by crashing the game after each level III weapon.

I didn't have enough weapon parts so I just scrapped a few of my weapons. Didn't matter since it wasn't gonna be saved anyways but if you do this DO NOT LEAVE THE ARK or your guns r gone

So towards the end of the game one of my lvl 3 weapons didn't register for the achievement and I didn't have enough parts to upgrade 3 which is what I still needed so I saved first then upgraded 2 levei 2s to a 3. I noticed they both registered towards the achievement so I reloaded my save and upgraded another (different weapon) and the achievement popped. It made me realize you might be able to scum save this achievement the minute you have enough for one lvl 3 if you keep reloading your save and lvling it again. I'm not sure if it has to be different weapons to work but I have a feeling it doesn't so it may be worth a try for someone who's afraid they won't get enough parts or just wants to cheese the achievement early on.

Upgrade 5 different types of weapons to level 3. if you upgrade multiple of the same type only one count. I had two boomsticks at level 3 so this required me to get a sixth weapon upgraded.

This trophy is highly missable.

1. There are only 14 types of weapons in the game. As far as I remember, all copies can be found in the open world, some can be bought in the store. You need to upgrade all 14 different guns to the third level, one copy per type, no need to upgrade duplicates. To find all types of weapons you need to go through all zones, including optional ones.

2. 2 upgrades for each barrel - that's 90 parts. Upgrading a weapon requires an unrealistic amount of parts - 1260.

3. Some weapons appear with you or are immediately at the second level, which simplifies the situation (don’t download the rambino, you can quickly get it with the next hero). Purchasing a third level barrel in a store does not count.

4. It is extremely important not to disassemble unnecessary weapons into parts, save one type of each barrel. Weapons come across very rarely, usually in 1-2 copies, if you take something apart you can miss the trophy.

5. Most parts fall out of large robots; in a successful situation, about 50 pieces. If you properly search all the zones in one playthrough, you can collect about 800-900 parts maximum. What is apparently missing.

6. The trophy is taken like this
- something swings organically during the game itself
- towards the end you can disassemble all the old ones that have already been upgraded, and you can simply disassemble the duplicates
- the game counts the trophy for all saves and completions, starting a second time you can download everything that you didn’t have time to download the first time
- well, the simplest option. When you have found all the copies, you can upgrade all the weapons in the saved mode - disassembled everything, upgraded some - loaded, upgraded the rest.

Well, a couple of tips about pumping
- you need to start upgrading silent weapons, at the beginning everything up to level 2, then up to the third. Most likely, all 3 primary weapon slots will be occupied by silent ones (crossbow, ancient pistol, needle pistol).
- at the beginning, weak “secondary” weapons are not worth upgrading; barrels are quickly upgraded to the level of a sling/rambino/boom stick. I've already downloaded them.
- then they change to the Elysium/Mimir/GJR layout. These already have enough details quite freely.
I didn’t see any point in buying weapons for beating the game, just to disassemble them for extra parts.

The trophy can be obtained very easily. All you need to do is find or buy all the weapons and 90 weapon parts.
1. Saved before leveling
2. Upgrade one weapon
3. We leave the store and go into another (I went into Pepin’s store)
4. Load the save and upgrade other weapons
And so on until all 14 positions were upgraded.

It's not that much of a miss if you remember it. You can get it without any problems if you have 90 spare parts and all types of weapons on hand. Just like kill counters, the game stores information about weapon upgrades separately from the save.

For the trophy, the following actions are enough:
1. We collect 90 spare parts.
2. We collect all the weapons (the last one, Mimir RS-98, lies in a chest in the Forbidden City). If something is missing by this point, it means not all locations have been cleared.
3. Save in the Ark.
4. Upgrade weapons to level 3.
5. Load the save from step 3.
6. Repeat points 4-5 for each weapon that has not yet been upgraded.

Purchased weapons are immediately of level 3; such weapons do not count towards the trophy. Only the fact of pumping is considered. I haven’t tried it with purchased level 2 weapons, but it works if you upgrade initially level 2 weapons taken from joining characters.

The parts collected throughout the game will not be enough for you, even if you disassemble the upgraded weapon - you will still be missing about 360-400 units for assembly. Collect all the weapons, some samples can be purchased from the Iridia store in the Ark. So we save, pump up everything we can pump up, just exit the game, load the save, that is, click continue. We disassemble the weapons and duplicates that were upgraded for the first time, then we download the ones that were not upgraded for the first time, repeat the procedure until we have upgraded everything, and the purchased weapon, if you found it in the game and it is a duplicate, can be disassembled for spare parts.
